Angry PPI at RUSNAK PORSCHE

Hi guys,

I wanted to share with you a little experience that happened to me today. I found a 2008 997tt in california for sale so I came to an agreement with the seller to do a PPI so i can be assured the car is good. He recommended to contact Rusnak Porsche in Westlake since he bought the car there and it being the closest dealer to where he lives.

So i call the dealer, ask to speak to the service manager and tell him that i need a PPI done on one of their customer's car. He refused to do it saying they don't do that, that it is too much liability. I've never heard of a dealer doing that . Have you??

A lot of dealers in CA won't do PPI's due to buyers being unhappy with how thorough their PPI is. They probably did them for a while then got some bad press due to their lack luster review of one to many cars. I would search for a good indy shop to do your PPI. It will be cheaper and you'll get the same level of detail if not better details.

Make sure the shop has a DME scan tool and you should be set. If you're looking in the Nor. Cal. area I can recommend a couple shops.

Good luck with your search!

Since i'm buying all the way from Montreal its easier and safer to deal with a Porsche dealership. It would suck that the sale is cancelled because of that detail. Plus the car is still under warranty.

OP your lucky they refused. They are one of the worst if not THE worst dealerships in CA. Dont even get me started on the Rusnak Pasadena location.

Wow that bad? I mean they get bad press and instead of fixing the way they do PPi's(something so simple to do for a respectable dealer) they just stop doing them??? I was gonna ask them to put new tires, fix the rub on the seat etc Makes no sense to me to refuse business.

Ppi

I, too almost had a very bad buying experience from there a couple years ago. I just recently bought a 2007TT. I used Gary Topal from Factory Werks and could not have been more happy. Gary knows P cars. Give him a call at 714-746-4674. Good luck!

Some dealerships refuse to do it because buyers are unhappy that something if something missed. Many of the dealerships in my area refuse to do it because the seller is told that there is a problem with the vehicle - something unexpected and uncovered during PPI.

If you have a trusted independent shop, I'd go there.

Dealers in Houston won't do them either. You have to find an indy.

I recently purchased a used 2009 CPO from Rusnak. I was very happy with the experience. I realize not totally responsive to the OP, but since others chimed in and hit them hard, I thought i would put in another opinion.

I know that there are local dealers here who will do a PPI. I'm wondering whether the dealer that the OP contacted doesn't do any PPIs, or just didn't want to do a PPI on their customer's car. Maybe they didn't want to upset their customer if they found something? After all, their customer has spent a lot more money with the dealer than any PPI would.

Besides, if they maintained the car, you're probably better off getting a truly independent check.
