Concerns about buying a used 09 997tt with a rollbar
Concerns about buying a used 09 997tt with a rollcage
Should I be worried about it being heavily abused for its first 11k miles? I havent had a chance to see how good of a job was done putting it in, but it makes me a little concerned that the car has some hard miles on it compared to someone's daily driver.
The DME showed only one ignition in range 4 and 3 ignitions in range 3, but it was less than 1 running hour ago.

Do you know for a fact it had a hard life? Some people just put them in to look cool. The old owner may have done a few Des. The serious track rats usually drive GT3s.
If everything checks out then you may have a nice optioned car!
Alos, a little more info not he car. Year, ect. Is it at a dealer and it is a CPO???

I also have the same worry. I have a deposit on this car and will be in Florida next week to look at it. Highly modded, roll bar and yet says "never tracked"

The service manager at my local dealer (I've purchased over 20 Porsches from them since my first in 1979 so have a great relationship) told me not to worry about range 1 or 2. If it had any higher ones to give him a call and we would talk about it.

Its a 2009, 997TT with 12k miles. The overrev reports indicates a pretty easy life. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

Based on the complete lack of backseat pictures on their site makes me think they dont want folks to see its got a cage. I just noticed the 5 point buckle in front of the passenger seat and confirmed with their rep. <o

I agree. Bring the car to a dealer to check it out and put your worries to rest. Hell, you could buy a car with 1000 miles on it and it blow up the next day. Mileage and roll bars have nothing to do with abuse.
Good luck

I agree with everyone else: a roll bar does not necessarily indicate a hard life for the car. It is an obvious statement, but people do all types of mods for all sorts of reasons. It is possible the car was tracked hard every weekend, but it is also possible that the owner liked the looks of the roll bar or just wanted to maximize his personal safety for DE or two.
You might look at other wear components to how much time the car spent on the track: tires, brakes, etc. Replaced/upgraded brakes, new rotors, etc. would indicate a higher probability of extensive track time. Finally, these cars a built strong; several hard track days are not going to hurt them as long as they are well-maintained.

>If it is still under factory warranty then get a PPI and if all checks out, no worries!
