997tt from 996 C4S

Hi all, Got a 2008 997tt Cab today and traded in my 2004 996 C4S Cab on it, whoever gets my 2004 will get a perfect car. I love the tt already; feel like I just graduated. Now I must learn how to drive it and all the differences. Two things I'll have to figure out is if bluetooth can be set up, it has the telephone option (but working with another sim card seems to be a PITA) and the other is to get it to work with my garage door opener (they both have learning modes, so who learns from whom)? Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

I have a mobridge mp3/Bluetooth unit, works great. Also check out www.homelink.com for the garage opener, I had to use these instructions to get it work.

Smile trade up....

you are going to love the difference. I went from an 03 C4S to an 09 TT cab last fall and it was huge. (Some would say less connected to the road, too much luxo stuff.....blah, blah, blah, just drive and enjoy!) Fortunately the PCM in the 09 does everything so my advice on this is a bit dated. I had the mobridge setup in the c4s and it worked really well, a little learning curve but I re-discovered a bunch of music.

As to garage door openers, on our other car we could not get the home link to work with the specific brand of opener (Wayne Dalton iDrive)...........solved everything by moving to a new house and bought my wife a new car. Homelink works fine now........

Have Fun

Thanks guys, sounds like a couple of winners; although I don't think I want to sell my house just yet and just got the 997tt yesterday.

Well, went with the mobridge unit for the BT and after a little agnst over disabling the Porsche Telephone, it works like a charm. Guess, I'll be keeping the Porsche.

Don't know about the house, have been running up and down the ladder trying to get the Homelink to work, I'll try some more in the next few days, but if I don't get it to work, will probable use a visor clicker before I move a new home .

Well I tried the Homelink again this morning, followed the directions in the book and this time it took all of 5 minutes. Guess I'll be keeping both the car and the house
