My buddy R. gets his 2009GTR tuned today, his car is fitted with downpipes, midpipe, and KN filters.
Before the tune I killed him from a 80kph rolling start to any speeds with my both 560hp/820Nm 993TT and 675hp/900Nm 997.1TT MT, slightly with the 93 and more easily with the 997.
His car was dynoed 538hp/680Nm before the tuning and 640hp/860Nm after (1.3bar).
We will run again the 3 cars soon, I guess the 993 will be killed and I hope the 997 will keep ahead!
'will share...

With good upgraded vtgs kit the bolt ons GTR's have no chance!

This is a bone stock Turbo S versus a Bone stock 2013 GT-R (545 hp). The Turbo S is definitely faster, just as well all expect it to be. However, you can tell by how slowly the Turbo S pulls that if that GT-R was making a true 600 hp to the crank (an additional 55 hp), the Turbo S would probably lose.

A bolt-on GT-R with only intake, exhaust, injectors and fuel pumps has gone 9.9 @ 140 mph (on the stock turbos with drag radials). It makes around 600 awhp (700 hp to the motor). There isn't a Turbo S on planet earth that would keep up with a GT-R at that level.

Love to hear what you've done to the engine on you're 993TT.

I do understand that this is "porsche world", but a little confused as to where you guys get your data from. I have witnessed in person bolt on gtr-'s w/a cobb tune absolutely annhilating turbo's and beating turbo s's with no issues. I haven't seen anything against a pdk yet, but i'm guessing it would be much closer.

How do you think that a 500ish whp vehicle without a pdk is going to beat a 600ish whp vehicle with better gearing, a faster transmission, and more torque?

Just a question from a former GT-R owner (2 of them) to someone who is going back to Porsches soon here.

Ok, we had a run with my 560hp 993 and the 640hp GTR.
As expected the GTR killed me at any speeds, we tried starts in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th.
More we start at high speed and less the GTR kills me, in 2nd and 3rd it takes me one or two lenght at once 4 and 5th it is only one lenght and no more to 300kph.
I took my Vbox during the runs: best 100-200 for the 993: 7.2' and GTR: 6.6', but we didn't run especially this exercise.
We will test with the 997 soon...

To RSS: 993 fitted with K24s, big intercooler, sport exhaust, 1.55 cams, ported heads, 5bar FPR, LFW, KN and Ofzky's tune (1.15bar)

First of I'm talking about on the shelf bolt ons kit such as Alpha 6, HKS600, SPE600......etc. Plus upgraded vtgs for 997.1 for Pascal ( since he has 997.1 )

Lets be more specific about the car you are talking about.

#1 - 9.870sec @ 140.47mph CornedOutVR38
1.476 60' (NIS006 LC4); ⅛ = 6.356@111.63mph; Δ = 28.84mph
Cobb SF Intake, Catless exhaust with no catback + Fuel System + no passenger seat, race seat, lightweight battery
e85, 18" Mickey Thompson ET Drag Radials, Jack Cecil @ HPLogic Tuned
3/10/12 @ Island Dragway | est: 41º -1178' DA (slip, thread)

for a pass drag radials make a huge difference. Thanks for the post.

As to GTR's killing turbos... Driver makes a huge difference but there are a million vids by people that are close to equal drivers running the 997.1 within 4 tenths.

Hell you can make a neon smoke a 911 or a GTR.
