Does everyone have a clear bra?

I didn't have one on my M3, and the bumper was fine, so I've never given any significant thought to it. With a car as low as the 997 turbo, am I just asking for trouble if I skip it?

The alternative is just having the front bumper painted in ten years--which is about the amount of time I would expect enough marks to be noticeable. Again, though, my expectations may be way off, as this is the lowest front bumper I've owned--by a couple of inches.

The car won't see the track much--so infrequently that I would just put something temporary on it for the day. I would probably do this even if I had the clear bra actually.

My dealer is offering the VentureShield--full frontal for $900. Any thoughts on options and prices are appreciated also.

What do you mean by full frontal? I assume, everything from the windshield forward? If so, thats a much better deal than I got! Go for it, I personally think its a good investment even if you don't track.

I think it is a must for these cars. For that price I am assuming they are covering the partial hood and fenders. You should consider the full hood. I have seen numerous 911s without film and they are all chipped up. It's simply to nice of a car to not put film on.

Got mine done today full front fenders, hood, bumper, headlights, front led flashers, mirrors and 2 little strips on the rear bumper behind the tires. I paid 1100$. Helps keep your front always looking new!

Thanks for the replies.

By full frontal I meant partial hood and fenders plus back of mirrors, which I don't really like the look of because of the dust line that accumulates--at least this time of year--and I garage the car. It doesn't take much time outside to get the green pollen line.

I hadn't considered the whole hood, which would get rid of the line on the hood. How far back do you go on the fenders when doing the full hood? The A-pillar and door jambs?

By the way, the car is a 2007, and has never had one before--13,000 miles. Currently, there are a couple of small marks, but not much. I was considering whether I should touch things up (with paint, sandpaper, etc.) before putting on the clear bra.

My guy did the whole hood and fenders so no lines. My car has 19k miles and is black. It had few chips on the hood that he removed with some process i never seen before. They rub some paint like paste all over the hood then remove it with some liquid. The paint stays only where the chips were. I was really amazed by this process because it now looks like new.

I had the partial bra on my slate grey carrera but since the Turbo is black i really didnt want to see a seperation mark and thats why i opted for the full bra. Worth every penny!

Highly recommended replacing the bra is much cheaper than repainting portions of the car not to mention effecting resale value

I took a rock on the nose of my turbo a week after getting it. Fortunately the dealer fixed it. After that, I made sure I got the turbo as well as my GT3RS done. You can't even tell they have clear bras and I have peace of mind on both cars.

A clear bra is the way to go - don't forget the head lights. I have CF mirrors, so left them without wrapping.

Cheers,

I got it done just as soon as I drove off the dealership lot. It's a good investment for your Pcar.
