turbos in extreme heat! I need an advice!
Get a Z06. Cheaper to own, run and upgrade + beter looking
There is no way in the world a Z06 looks better than a 911 TT,,, And as far as performance I have seen first hand the results and its not in the favor of the vette...
In the European market a Z06 is a pretty uncommon car which gives it some exclusivity.
As far as concerns the performance and maintanance of turbocharged cars, it is known that Porsche tests their cars under every extreme enviroment from +40 to -20 degrees.
However those that think that they are in living in a hot place like 35-40 degrees i can tell that it has nothing to do with Middle East. I have been there for some months. The feeling i got when i got off the plane is something that i ll never forget
I appreciate your help gentlemen but I'm not really in fond with corvettes because they're common here between car enthusiasts and like spread all over the city I live! not to mention very, VERY bad dealership with muddy reputation! I want something unique that reflect my own character when wandering the streets with the power available whenever I want
judging from the replies then I understand I'll have no problems with turbos in the hot weather! then it's fine, not that I'll push the car to the limit, perhaps a bit of pushing in the highway but not a flatout or any crazy stuff! I'll save that for the autobahn or any track day!

It is depends how much u wanna spend and what is your HP goal?
in any case, my main concern was the PDK after certain milage and whether they're troublesome and prone to failure, unexpected symptoms like sudden downshifts/delays, you know they have "electric parts" and they usually dont last with the heat! but I just hope I'm worng about this!
- Run a higher quality oil than Mobil 1. I use Joe Gibbs Driven GT 40 which is not Porsche approved (but I'm well past qualifying for warranty work). Motul 300 is approved by Porsche and is better than Mobil 1 and most others. These oils have much better high temperature shear characteristics and the viscosity remains more stable as well.
- Use a 50-50 mix of normal premium gas and a higher octane race fuel. This will prevent pre-detonation which can lead to all manner of nasty consequences.
- When done with a session, pop the rear deck hood and let the car idle for a couple of minutes.
- Monitor the oil temp gauge. If it gets close to 250, short shift and drive around at lower rpms until the temp falls back to 230 +/-.
Thanks steamboat. Great info, more than I needed. Left LA @ 5 this morning and got here @ 7:30 to avoid the desert heat. I'm glad I took her out and let her stretch her legs, a good 250 mile stretch. She was very eager and willing. And btw, no track this time, just spirit driving.

How the hell do you live there?! For me 25 and no wind is already too much.
Out of curiosity, what is it like during the day?
CRAZY
Those 997TT intercoolers intercool nothin', I bet!
Does AC actually work in 60C ambient temp? What does it cool down to, to 50? :-)
