turbos in extreme heat! I need an advice!

hi all!

in saudi arabia we are terrified of any european vehicle as much as being attracted to them, the average temp in the city I live is between 33-37c but sometimes can jump to 50c I've been asking myself whether to get the turbo since I've heard not so many pleasent experience about turbos in hot weather! I don't mind some extra power but not on the reliability because I do plan to use it as a daily driver vehicle! so in the end, this or just the carrera?

another question, is the PDK transmission reliable? anything I should know about it?

Summers here in Florida will be 32c (90f) or more. Humidity is extreme and can literally be at 100%.

Got lots of first hand experience at one of the roughest race tracks in the country with a DE group that offers the longest sessions and more driving time than anyone else.

Bone stock a TT should be fine - I've been a little surprised myself at how well the car holds up *knock on wood*

There is a local guy with a 997.2 turbo S (PDK) race car. Last I talked to him he had 40 days on it and no issues with PDK. Definitely good to hear as it won't be too much longer before you can get a Porsche without it.

Track days in Savannah, Ga with 98-100 degree temps for 4 days straight. Zero issues.

Salam bro
There is plenty of modded 997.1tt ( up to 1100-1200whp ) and 997.2tt over here and no problems. Porsche is very reliable car if u make regular maintenance from the dealer.
For mods..Start with reflash and exhaust and if you concern about heat then get Intercoolers.
Regarding PDK tranny. With mods above you should reach the tranny limit.

ZO6 A/C not helping ( on our weather lol )
ZO6 engine won't last cause it has :-
Weak thin cylinders
Bad rockers
Bad exhaust valves
GM dealers in middeleast don't give a damn about Factory recalls
I saw many many blown ZO6's has bolt ons only.

LOL, they are known to wash the local tracks with oil ... and also if you're fast be prepared to replace pads everyday at the track.

Like to track ?

Buy a GT3.

You will have no problem with the turbo. I owned my 997 turbo for 4 years, I did modify the car 2 years ago to 700 package with out any problem.

You are actually citing this video as reference material for why not to get a 911 Turbo?

I believe Bob had a link to a "double face-palm" but then someone else came back with a Jesus facepalm - this was from a thread last year.

I appreciate your help gentlemen but I'm not really in fond with corvettes because they're common here between car enthusiasts and like spread all over the city I live! not to mention very, VERY bad dealership with muddy reputation! I want something unique that reflect my own character when wandering the streets with the power available whenever I want

judging from the replies then I understand I'll have no problems with turbos in the hot weather! then it's fine, not that I'll push the car to the limit, perhaps a bit of pushing in the highway but not a flatout or any crazy stuff! I'll save that for the autobahn or any track day!
