why not the 996 TT or why not the GT3? Maybe these will be the new classics after 20 years, who knows?
So bear with me. Here is the idea. First the 996 is the FIRST new Porsche with water cooled engine BUT has the square BUTT that many people do not like. They prefer the rounded 997 look. So that is why I suggest the 997 model. Then, look at the engine. I am saying Mezger because that is the REAL racing engine block, good for 1000 HP, stout and unsurpassed for several years to come (possibly the 991 Turbo but that is a BIG IF because all the Nanny stuff that Porsche will incorporate for sure. Also, most prefer the 997 interior over the 996 and feel it is a better design and execution of an interior.. So when you add all of that together it looks like the 997 Mezger engined Turbo or the 997 GT3/2 and variants is THE car that will command the big money in 10-15 years. For me, my 996T is what I will hang on to purely because it was the first water cooled version and it is by far the "rawest" sports car of the last 15 years in the Porsche stable and I have no problems with the looks and the "flied egg" headlights. I also like the 18 (max 19) inch wheel size because that is proportional the correct size for that size and shape car. Anything else looks somewhat odd.

Well, I wonder if the 991 TT will have 20" wheels. The next model 7 years later, will come with 21" wheels. Where will the wheels stop

I agree, they are getting totally out of proportions and with out-of-whack dimensions within the design of the greenhouse and that is not good.

Cevin is infamous around these parts
Seriously, where will one find computer boards, etc in 20 or 30 years? High tech spare parts may be an issue in the future. I won't have to worry because I will be pushing up daisies by then.

I say these cars will be next to worthless in 5-10 years.
We are observing global changes, now they are slow, but they will accelerate.
Enjoy now, while you can. No need to think about what happens in the future.
If you want to sell - sell, otherwise - do not sell.
