Hmmm, what should I be trapping?

I think it's time to get my EVT700 dyno'd to see what kind of power it is actually putting to the pavement. I was down in Mexico with my buddy in his 2005 bone stock M6 and I honestly can't say I was any faster than him. With almost 200 extra hp, tons more torque and less mass I would have thought any losses from my manual shifting would be easily compensated for. Maybe if we actually lined up side by side and floored it at the same time I would have been faster but following each other left me confused why I couldn't walk him down easily. Hmmm...

I was thinking I should be trapping low-mid 120's with my level of tune. A stock M6 around 114-117 from what I've seen. Any ideas? Temps about 80 degrees here in Seattle.

Luis did a review here. Looks like during his drive, weather was in the 60s, trap speed was in the 130s.

Thanks. Wow, didn't know 130's were typical. Sounds like I need to dig a little deeper here.

What speed did you roll from? What gear? Running race gas?

You're right. You could have easily taken the M6 in stock form, should have killed it with another 200 crank hp.

I think I need to stop messing around w/ mail order tunes and just get someone local to tune it... (Sigh) That means another $3k I'm sure for a tune. Ugh.

We were usually around 50-60mph. I was likely in 3rd gear. Running 92 octane pump.

Somethings wrong with your car, have it checked out.

Using my VBOX, my GT2 does it at 132mph using 91octane at about 70degrees. That was with evoms ecu tune and 200 cell cats so 620hp at crank.

My mods are:

2007 997 Turbo
IPD Plenum
BOV's
Fabspeed exhaust & 200-cell cats
Agency Power headers, intercoolers, intake and boost hoses
VTG-upgraded turbos (from Evoms)
Evomsit 700 tune
Sachs 2.5 clutch & LWFW

When I purchased the car it already had the Evomsit 580 tune and I had it taken the rest of the way to the 700. It ran beautifully with the 580 tune but it hasn't really liked the 700 tune thus far. The runs with the M6 confirm what I have been suspicious of all along. Something is not right still.

m6s are muchhhh faster from a roll than most people think, but with your mods, that shouldn't even be close.

You should at least trap 130 with 700 HP. doesn't matter how fast a m6 is from a roll, still no match for a 700 HP TT. how old are your plugs? Maybe time to change them out?

My car traps 130 with proto tune and cargraphic catless exhaust on ms109.

Plugs are less than a year old as they were changed when the 700 tune was installed. I can't remember which plug, but it was a platinum plug than EVOMS recommended.

Should the car still trap 130 running 92 octane? I guess I've been under the impression that the car should make 700hp crank on pump gas.

That's perfect rolling speed for your car.
