Is this a good deal? 2008 GT2 for 136K?

I've been looking at 997 GT2s and it seems like the price is all over the place depending on location, mileage, options and etc. I found one for sale at 136K and it's a 1-owner 2008 car with 214K MSRP. It has less than 3K mi on the clock with zero track mi. No accidents, paint, blemishes and scratches but IMO, it's a 9.5 out of 10 car. The reason I gave 9.5 is the car is out of warranty and isn't a CPO car. What do you guys think? Is this a good, bad or OK deal?

This sounds like a very special car. Opinions here will just about always say the price is too high (whatever the car or price). If this is what you've been looking for and you've got the dough-offer a little less and try to make the deal-life is short-go for it!!

My car is very close to that and it is CPO'd. My biased opinion says that price is ok.

So, how do you like your GT2 compare to your old 997.1TT?

I think you have to factor the 3K Miles & ZERO Track time as the major driver. CPO/Warranty you could always get an aftermarket warranty, but if that thing was hammered on during Track days, I'd be concerned. Looks like you found a great deal.

I like both a lot but the GT2 serves my purpose better. The 997TT was just about the perfect all around car in my opinion. I was looking for something more special, more rare, and more of a weekend toy - the GT2 is all of that and more. It's really is a different car dispite it's general looks and common DNA to the TT.

OK deal. I know of a flawless example, similar MSRP, 1,800 miles, ask $143k from a highly pedigreed Porsche specialist. Ray Joseph in Houston has it.

That car is very similar to mine (color and all). Mine has more options, CPO, but more miles too. Good luck with your search !

Think Ray may let go for circa $138, but please do not quote me on that

Car has 3k miles, just like new. NO dire need for a warranty IMO or CPO.
You are getting a car for 85k below its MSRP with only 3k miles.
With about 15k in mods you can add an extra 90hp/tq and have it handle like a go-kart.
What color is it? Black and silver usually goes for 5k below white. Red and orange are unpredictable.
I would say that anything under 140k with a car that loaded is very good. 125k would be a steel and very unlikely.

Offer 128k and see how they counter you!

Where do you live in CA?

Does mileage below - say 2000 or 1000 miles, or no miles!! make big difference in the pricing of such car?

I ask, cause about a month ago, there was brand new GT2 2009, with delivery miles! Some extra options (like Roll Cage, satin black finish wheels). Color PTS, ugly brown (not sure what shade). Existing warranty. Owner was asking $150k. My friend, was interested in the car, despite the off color. Tried negotiating lower price, like $135, then $140. Seller won't budge! His reasoning! "its brand new GT2!", "MSRP was $195". So take it or leave it!

I think seller decided to keep it for now, reasoning that prices may recover in coming months!

The point is, would brand new or say below 1000 miles make real difference to GT2's worth!

The seller would not go penny less than 136k. I'm fine with the price but wish it was a CPO car. I wasn't planning on modding the car but I may just do 100 cell cats and GIAC tune unless there are better options. BTW, I'm in orange county.

Man, 2009 is so hard to find and I'd have offered at least 145k for that black car. If you don't mind, can you forward his contact info?

If you got the car CPO, then you would be buying it from the dealer and you would be paying at least 140k for it. You can get warranty for 4k extra. You might be able to pay a dealer to CPO it for you, just ask around.
RSS is in Costa Mesa, I drive up there and have had them do all the mods to mine. They do a great job and are great guys. Let me know if you want there contact info. I don't know which tune is best, but I'm a big fan of all that I have done to mine.
I have put almost 7k on mine without a problem. These cars are really built well. Love to hear what you think of it compared to your MP4. I only live about 50 miles away, so if you want to get together for a drive, you can check out my car.
