DFI system is under a lot of pressure, something like 1500-1700 psi IIRC. Porsche and other makes have had issues. Bosch has come out a few revisions since.

How many miles on it? How do you drive it? Been on the track with it? Any repairs?

The assisted clutch in the TT's ruin the feel for me, and thus would definately change the clutch if I got a manual TT. The DFI engine is great and can take mods (up to 620 or 650hp), but the great thing is it only requires 2 mods (exhaust and ecu tune) to make it much faster then the previous model super modified. I would take a newer 10' plus TT with PDK for sure. Get the 2 mods done and you can safely add 80hp and the car can easily handle it.

i would say if you want manual, go with 09. If you want PDK, then 2010 is the only way to go!

620 is peanuts for a mezger. my 996 has been at 620 for 6 years...

About 8000kms. I drive it hard at the track and even mis-shifted a few times as the tranny was getting too hot. About 10 track days on my TT. No repairs other than a recal on the rear drive shafts.

Trunk "bump"

I'm going to jump in here being in the business and an '09 turbo owner. The '09-on trunk is slightly more spacious as a result of the newer PCM3 NAV and revised BOSE system--not the front drivetrain. The NAV was reconfigured in the trunk, and the BOSE amplifier was enlarged and moved to the passenger seat.
There are no drivetrain changes 2007-09 that I'm aware of. Hope this helps..

That's odd - the bump is only on the 4wd models, so I'm pretty surprised that it is the PCM. I understand there was a front axle change in '09, but I heard that from a salesman, so I take it with a grain of salt. If it was the PCM and Bose, then 2WD models would have had the same bump in the trunk.

THanks for all the comments. I was pretty sold on the '09, but now I'm waffling. I'm also wondering about the lack of engagement of the PDK. Definitely a plus on the track, but around town the Porsche tranny is just such a treat. The most tuning I'm going to do is exhaust and tune and I suspect an '09 will be plenty fast for me.

What is the latest on the 991 turbo? I suspect that release will depress '10+ TT prices somewhat, while it will have less impact on the '09 as it is just in a lower price category.

Believe the man. There was no change to the AWD drivetrain between 08 and 09...but the PCM did change. You call it a "bump", I call it a box. Anyway here's a picture of the front end on an 08 turbo and you can see the box which holds the nav unit and other electronic "stuff". With the PCM change in 09 you won't see this on the 09's.

I agree that the PCM changed. However, can you explain why an '08 C4S and '08 turbo have a box (bot 4wd) and an '08 C2 or C2S don't have a box? All. Have the same electronics.

I had an 09TT, it was nicely modified but I sold it and bought a 11TT w/PDK about 8 months ago. I enjoyed the PDK immensely the first few weeks but now I wish I would have kept my 09 6spd. The PDK is faster but it's missing the driver involvement and rowing through gears is deep in my veins.

If you really want a 6speed, then get an 07-09. Less expensive and better! IMO the bulletproof GT1 engine is not really arguable. PDK is the only reason I'd consider a 10+

The 07-09 cars are the toughest, best GT1 engine ever produced. Period. They come with the best fuel system and air metering units as well. The new engine starts with rods that are 25% weaker... not good for modding.

991 Turbo is due Sept 2013 per Auto Gallery (my local Porsche dealer). There is no pricing or order guide yet.

How about the Torque vectoring and dynamic engine mounts for the 2010 Turbo ? The also revised the suspension tuning as well. These would be my reasons to move up to the '10.
