If you bought one for $75M, I can;t see you having a problem getting $37.5M in 4 years.

i think this site can be a good data point for actual market prices, not 'high' asking prices as you often see from dealers. the private parties here seem to have a better general understanding of where things really trade, not a 'hopes and dreams' asking price which doesn't indicate much of anything.

there was (or still is) that gorgeous 09 with 14k miles, highly optioned, with great mods, on this site for $101k...that seemed to be a good indicator of where things really are. not sure if it sold yet....

I think this is a totally reasonable and conservative assumption. If we look at the general trend of a 2002 996TT...they generally range in the low 40k - mid to high 50k price range based on mileage and condition.

I think the 997tt will follow the same trend if not better. Condition and ownership will be a major factor as to how much you can ask for your 997tt in five years.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could get $30M 10 to 15 years down the road.

My opinion newer is always better, go with an 09 unless you find a sreaming deal with all the right options.
this is what ive seen.

Thanks for the color. It hasn't been long, but the hunt for a turbo is a tough one. There are few cars and all have different configurations that make many not desire able to me. Also, there are MANY cabs out there. I wasn't planning on considering one, but I may be open to looking at one.
Also, seems I need to be open to looking all over the country and shipping car. Would anyone consider just buying a car and having it shipped without seeing it? Is that crazy on a CPO car?

I bought my CPO White 2002 996TT sight unseen from a Porsche dealership 3000 miles away. Car was in fantastic shape.

Good luck.

I'm starting to see 2010 CPO 997.2 Turbos going for just a bit over $100K. Non CPO ones (PDK and manual) are going for between $100 and $110K asking price. If you aren't set on a Metzger (sp?) engine and want a PDK, hang on. I think they will all be below $100K in the spring.

Good point. They are definitely around under $110k. Quite a hefty chunk more than a good CPO '09 at under $90k. Also, I'm thinking they'll really suffer more in price than the .1's when the 991 TT comes out. I'm also debating waiting out the winter. Doubt I'll be able to hold out that long though!

Thanks for the reassurance about the long distance purchase! Worst case, I spend a few hundred for a plane ticket to get total piece of mind. Porsche's are different cars though and compared to some other mfgs, the CPO program seems pretty tightly run. I would never think about it from a pp or some indi.

I'm in the same boat and trying to hold out as long as I can - I think $65k for a 997.1TT is reasonable within the next year. It would be nice to have the extra cash for some light mods.

Also, with regards to CPO - buying a non-CPO from a Porsche dealer along with their dealership offered extended warranty is also an option. I did that with my old 996TT which worked out ok.

2006GT is infamous around these parts
What's a low mileage 2011 tt S coupe going for these days at the auction? I hear there's some softening going on there as well.
