100 Octane fuel CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
Yeah! Step-by-step would be great. I do know my 100 octane program is "program 4". I just got back from Fast Fuels in Damascus, had less then a quarter tank of 100/93 mix left and i filled her up with Sunoco 100. Drove her home (40 miles). I haven't switched programs just yet. A bit nervous.
Also the issue at hand with the CEL, i just drove the car 80+ miles with again no CEL after clearing it last night. That boggles my mind.

Sorry BlackSwan, I could not respond to your PM as I don't have enough posts. Here is the write-up:
1 - Fill up your tank with 100 octane gas or gas with a higher octane rating.
2 - Start the engine
3 - Cruise control ON
4 - Push the cruise control stalk UP and maintain it in that position.
Now this is where is gets a little bit tricky. After 5 seconds , the low fuel light will start blinking. The blinking pattern indicates which map is selected. I'll assume you have an APR tune with 4 maps: stock, 91 octane, 93 octane and 100 octane. You have to maintain the cruise control in the UP position till you reach the map/blinking pattern that you want to select. At that time, you can release the cruise control stalk to indicate that this is the map you want to select
If you want to select the 100 octane map, here is what you are going to see:
1 blink per second repeated 4 times (this is the stock map) followed by
2 blinks per second repeated 4 times (this is the APR 91 octane map) followed by
3 blinks per seconds repeated 4 times (this is the APR 93 octane map) followed by
4 blinks per seconds repeated 4 times (this is the APR 100 octane map) --> you can release the cruise control stalk when you reach this pattern
5 - Turn the engine OFF
6 - Wait 10 seconds
7 - Turn the ignition key ON but don't start the engine
8 - wait 10 seconds
9 - Turn the ignition key OFF
10 - Wait 5 seconds
11 - Turn the ignition key ON but do not start the engine.
12 - Wait 5 seconds to verify that there is no error message
13 - Start the engine.
It is common to get an error message such as "PASM failure" when you reach step 7). Don't worry about it, it will clear up when you go through the next steps.
There is no way to verify which program you have selected. So if you are not certain, just repeat the process till you are sure that you have selected the correct blinking pattern.

1) SAI pump damaged/failed
2) SAI relay stuck
3) Carbon build up (more prevalent on high mileage cars)
4) Vacuum lines to vacuum actuated SAI valves torn/cracked or connectors on electronically actuated valves not being clipped in.
5) SAI hose between SAI pump and engine damaged
The flow is monitored by the primary oxygen sensor, so if you recently had other parts installed it may be just an installation oversight. Hope that helps...
Also, APR says that the 100 octane files should not be used unless the tank is full of 100 octane only. Mixes are a no-go. Their 100 map is pretty generous with boost and timing, ECU safety is still in place but be careful.
thenose, Perfect! I will definitely give this a try.
hurley, Great information thanks. I did have a chance to visit/speak with a mechanic at Porsche of Annapolis as my car is getting a new pair of shoes and alignment, i asked him about the issue and he explained it just as you did. There was a another 997tt there with the motor out so i got to see exactly where the pump sits and lets just say i don't want to have to replace anything about that pump.
I had a mix of 100/93 run down to about 55 miles left in the tank, light was on and below quarter. I then filled the tank to the rim with 100 octane fuel. I haven't changed programs just yet, however reading this makes me want to get to half tank on whats in the car now and then fill it up again with 100 octane just to be sure.
