electric seat stopped working

The controls for my drivers seat stopped working. The lumbar support still works, but the seat memory only moves the mirrors to their saved position. The front/back, up/down, and seat back forward/backwards buttons at the seat base do not respond. The passenger seat works fine.

Any suggestions? I figured if it was a fuse, the lumbar support should be out as well as the passenger seat.

Its under warranty - just dread going to the dealer.

Thanks

Plug it in man, plug it in :-) Just kidding.

Look under the seat, there should be a big yellow plug, try and see if that became disconnected or dislodged and more importantly check the wires to see if any of them have been caught in the tracks, or snagged on anything.

Ok - I can see the plug, but the seat does not lift, so it was really tight getting my hand under the seat. The plug was in, jiggled it a bit- no luck. Wires appeared ok and not frayed or cut.

However, popped off the fuse panel and read the fuse panel configuration book - turns out the right and left seats are on different fuses. Swapped the fuses for the seats (R & L) and now the drivers seat works and the passenger is dead.

Off to pep boys for a new fuse.

Whew - that was too easy - just hope it does not blow as well.

Glad it worked out and hopefully the fuse does not blow again indicating a short. $200 would only get you a diagnosis at my dealer!
