0-60 times it says. Id be more interested in the 0-100 or 1/4mi trap speeds to be honest.

I think he meant 0-100 kph which is actually 0-62mph. But yeah I'd love to see the 1/4mi times and speeds too.

Interesting the most significant leap occurs between the ZR1 which ties the Viper, and McLaren; 3.4 to 2.9

doesn't this leap all come down to launch control and auto-manual transmissions like the PDK? I think all the sub 3 second cars shown here have advanced tech managing the launch paired with an auto-manual trans.

no doubt it is impressive and allows for some serious bragging rights but give me a stick and three pedals any day

Motortrend has the S8 0 to 60 in 3.5, 11.6 in the 1/4 mile. I don't think so. That's what my friend gets in his 458 spyder.

Awesome list of cars but the 0-60mph time measure is such an outdated statistic in my opinion. The only reason I could think that magazines still use it is because a 0-60 sprint is something most people can do on some roads. For a list of quickest cars though, a 1/4 mile, 0-120mph, etc would be more useful/interesting.

Good post on the article/list, thanks!

Posted more realistic stats, well at least what I could find from reputable sources (magazines). Most are from a couple of years ago. I guess many publishers haven't decided to drop the some what meaningless 0-60/62 mph numbers for more realistic real world comparisons of 0 - 120 mph.

After driving an S8 you won't be surprised by those numbers. Its very quick for its size.

This might be attributed to AWD vs RWD.
