Choice between a 997 Turbo and a 997 GT3
Nearly spit my milk out when I read the 'perfect for kids' part. Right.

Though they are put on a pedestal far too often, this is a case where I thought it worthwhile to mention Nurburgring times as I thought your statement was off the mark.
The 997.1 turbo laps the 'Ring 5 seconds faster than the Z06 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...eife_lap_times).
I think there are some road courses where a stock z06 could be faster, but I don't think it's fair to say a Z06 will 'make fun' of it. I think most of the time it will come down to the driver

General Motors conducted test,[16] base specification car with optional super-slick track DOT competition tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure) and Z07 package
Again, a base stock Z06 isn't going to "make fun" of a 911TT on a track.

Ya I did look carefully. That list is just a list of times set by random parties...magazines, websites, and manufacturers. Look at the cars and times beneath the Z06 you speak about. Facts are facts...roll up on any any C6Z06 in your 997 Turbo and 9\10 times you lose. I know reality is no fun sometimes, but it is still reality.

Like I said, I am not here to put Nurburgring lap times on a pedestal as that's done by idiots and fan boys far too often. I made my point however, but you seem to be going out of your way to ignore it and then try to pile on pointless insults, as if that somehow bolsters the aforementioned claim that the Z06 "makes fun" of the 911 TT, which based on my experience (and some quickly gathered lap times), it does not. That experience includes lap days with both c5 and c6 z06s in various states of track preparation, and giving the guys with R comps and cages point-bys heading into turns at 150mph

I love Vettes and Vipers and have considered gettting both. Always look for the fine print when checking track times...often they are running track compounds and factory race packages. Porsche always goes out with a car as it would be sold from the showroom. As for getting beat by Z06's 9/10 times... no way. It's close from a roll, but they can't launch like a turbo. And there is the whole quality issue. Also, the rear seats and extra storage does come in handy and makes it easier to drive the 911 more places. Personally, I would have a corvette or viper as a second fun car, but not as my only...
2006 Z06 has a lap time of 7.37
Now, 2010 Z06 is actually a ZR1 plus lighter, minus smaller hp. Equiped with Michelin Sport Cup tires 7.22 or similar, makes quite sense.
A 997 Turbo 2 is faster on a straight line cause of PDK and 4wd. But still cannot achieve a time similar of Z06 and ZR1. Perhaps cannot handdle the same due to understeering. Turbos i think are not made for the track. GTs are...

This is also completely irrelevant too, right? Random drivers, magazines, etc?

997.1tt is a 70k car now and for that price they are awesome. One of the nicest cars in the 70k price range.
I live in GA and because of that I could never drive a vette or a mustang. I'd just fit in too well with the natives.

Im sorry...I cant ignore it anymore as you keep quoting me as saying "makes fun"... Where did I say that again? Just keep knawing on that bone man. Facts are facts...in my origonal post I simply listed a few cars well under $200k that would be worthy adversaries to the 997TT. I should have known id offend someone (you lol).
I was responding to mikegr. You are the one who quoted my response to mikegr, where I was pointing out a z06 hardly "makes fun" of a 911 TT.
You then proceed to expound on his initial comment in your response to me, and I simply reiterated what I was responding to in the first place, which you were wholeheartedly backing up.
Even he just corrected himself where he said he found a real base z06's time.
I never responded to your initial comment at all nor did I even read it??
You are clearly looking to pick a fight here by opening up with baseless insults and now you're reading into my comments as if they are personal attacks and disagreements on previous statements you've made (which again, I never even read). Take a chill pill!

What do you drive? I'm sure you speak from experience?
I have plenty of seat time in both cars (z06 and TT) and I personally own a 2008 TT.
Btw, Gran Turismo doesn't count.

Haha. I owned a C6Z for a couple years....
Im was just simple saying..anyone who believes their 997TT can win a street roll on w a C6Z is just plain wrong.
Again, I never made a comparison about track "worthyness" as the C6Z will prob grenade the motor before the last straight.
I really miss her...
