Choice between a 997 Turbo and a 997 GT3
Hey, What are you doing on here?
Let's keep the jabbing out of this discussion. There is good info here and it is only detracting from the original question.
My 2 cents - had both at the same time, kept the turbo and sold the Gt3. The GT3 was fine in the smooth european roads but was torture in urban US roads. With equal skilled non-pro drivers I would not expect a Gt3 to be able to outperform a turbo on a road course. By the time a driver is skilled enough to explore the limits of a GT3 he is likely going to build a dedicated track car anyway, so the Gt3 becomes a solution to a problem that doesn't exist anymore.
Also with respect to the fast 60-130 cars, most of the cars near and below the 5 sec mark are not in any way daily drivers. They may be street legal but they get towed to events, the times are usually on a prepared track with treated surfaces under the most optimal conditions.

I'm in love with the 997 GT3, but have seen a couple of turbos lately. My question is: In terms of everyday drivability + thrill factor, am I better off with a turbo or GT3. I have to admit, I have a weakness for the GT3's looks, and it seems to keep its value quite well -- so I'm guessing the demand for the light-weight racers remain high. But will I regret driving one everyday, as opposed to a grand-touring Turbo?
Thanks!
Thanks!
For just a few grand you can throw on a GT style wing and front kit if you really want the look. In terms of keeping its value the 997.1 GT3 and Turbo are pretty close.
