997.2 Clear Tail lights

Hello all,

Been reading posts on this forum for a few months now but wasn't actively involved. Now that i bought myself a used 09 997TT with a six speed manual transmission (which is extremely rare in Dubai) i thought i will ask your opinions on a small cosmetic change to the rear of the car.

I really like the 997.2 taillights. I have a basalt black TT and was wondering which would be a better option. The LED 'red' tailights or the 'clear' ones. I am leaning towards the clear taillights as I feel they look great on a black car. But I cant decide for sure.

Your inputs are really appreciated. Thankyou for all the great info on this forum!

the best option is what you like the most
I prefer the standard led tail light (red)

KPZL is infamous around these parts
Hello, I have a basalt blk 997.2tt. I currently have the clears. I have been thinking o f switching to red. The clears do look good but it is a sharp contrast where the red blends in a little better. I wish there was a factory OEM smoked or blackened, like on the new cayenne gts. Dectane also makes for the 997.1 but not the .2. It is illegal for aftermarket smoke where I live and haven't seen great examples.. Good luck with your decision. Maybe we should trade!

You know what, i had been thinking for quite some time now that its always better to buy the clear lights and do a 'red out' on the top side to make it look like factory lights . You should consider this rather than swapping out the unit. Also i live far away from you so shipping will be rather expensive!

BTW, post some pics of your car. I would love to see them. Thanks!
