CHKMGNT59 So did you buy the car?

Hi Chris, thanks yes been off the grid for a bit.....no I didn't add to the stable, just have a great dealer who gave me a car to drive as part of the 991 launch event. Dangerously tempting but i think given the two I have a Panamera is a better option.......... Did you get another 997.1 Turbo?

I did go ahead and get the car. The stock clutch slips a bit with the tune, so we will be putting in a sachs 2.5, which is very nice of the dealer to work with me on that. Took a while to work out the deal, but we did. No more GT3, hello turbo. I'll have to get another GT3 in a few years though - they're amazing on the track.

Taking it in to the dealership tomorrow for a full PPI - our contract is pursuant to a clean bill of health from Porsche.

How do you like the APR tune... it's the one I plan to get early next month

Congratulations and enjoy your car! The APR is not something to be frightened of... I've been having it on my car for more than a year now and apparently my car runs flawlessly. It doesn't disable or bypass ANY of the safety features of the motronic control unit and it records every sensor (including knock of course) as well keeping your motor safe. I am not sure how others here can data log other cars remotely using their superpowers and psychic abilities and find that the tune advances time too much, leans out the mixture and finaly detonates the engine, but as an owner I can assure you that the tune is fantastic and it never runs lean at all if you switch the corresponding map depending on the type of fuel you chose.

Great service as always from Hans and staff at RAC :-)
Very happy customer here. John Gladwell (best porsche setup man in the US if you don't know who he is) looked over the car and said it was perfect. I've happily driven several hundred miles in just a few days I've had it. The APR tune is great - and I now have an EP 1 on the way to round it out.
