BLOW OFF for 997.2 Turbo 6sp

Hi, I want to install blow off for my 997.2 turbo just for great sound between shiftings.

Does anyone has any experience and what can you recommend with best sound like Darth Vaider

Maybe some vids or auds !!!

Just picked up a 997.1 turbo. Played with cars for awhile though.

I'm curious how the BOV will work also. The motor seems to be a twin MAF based system right, seems like any non-recirculating BOV will be a disaster for the fuel metering right?

The 911 does use a closed system. It does not vent to ambient. No blow off valves in a stock setup.

In my B5 Audi days, we also used diverter valves that left us with no noise. I was never after the car making noise, so I never went this direction. However, there were companys that made a hybrid valve. It was a diverter valve so the car would stay happy, but did vent a small amount to ambient and that allowed you to get the woosh noise you desire.

Im sure someone will chime in if it is made for the 911.

For teh darth-vader sound effect you need tial blowoffs.With big turbos of course
I am on the same boat with you can't wait to install mine.

Most BOVs are universal, which means that a hybrid type system can definitely be installed (turbo XS model comes to mind). The problem with this is that a certain portion of air is still being vented. This plays havoc with the OEM metering. I'm not familiar with the Porsche's management system but for most turbo cars this means that every bit of loss in air is accompanied by a rich fuel reading in the exhaust stream, meaning in closed loop the car leans the car out a bit on a progressively viscous cycle. Eventually the entire tune falls out. Typically the result is excessive stumbling during shifts.

997.2 cars are MAP not MAF metered. The only issue is the stock "blow off" valves are built into the turbos. Form follows function.

Does that mean for 997.2 and stock turbos Game Over, no blow off

Cause I found on this forum the same thread, but 2008 for mk.1, and the decision was Y-pipe with installed tial blow off, from ASR engineering or Switzer!

Can I do the same for my mk.2 ?

For big turbos I have 9ff GT 2 4wd 1250hp and mk.2 is a DD car, I just want some action while shifting!!!

On stock turbos, yes.
