When I first saw the car on Cats website I didnt know ANYTHING about the car. Poking around the internet led me to find the car was owned and being consigned by a fellow 6speeder. The deal went the direction it did because I made it a point to contact the owner before flying out to Seattle. Because of this contact I was allowed to DRIVE the car, thus finding the major issues....the car started, ran and idled fine btw. I can only imagine the ****storm had I purchased the car without a test drive (Cats policy is NO test drives). I dont want to go into it too far but Im glad the owner of the car was eager to sell the car even with a few conditions attached that kept me from holding the entire bag.

There are a few of us in the Seattle area who are saddened to see the car go, and I'm definitely one of them since I never had the pleasure of seeing it in person. That being said, congratulations on picking up one hell of a beautiful 997TT! I hope you have a terrific ownership experience once the issues are all sorted out.

Glad it's working out, the car looks great. How much do you hope for it to put down?

if i were getting ready to drop a lot of money on a car and the dealer told me you cant test drive it i would tell him to pound sand..

immagine if you or someone else were to buy the car without knowing the history on the car and he didnt let him test drive it , and bought the car and it had the issues .... that would not be cool.

and i cant believe the owner of the car did not say anything to the dealer that it had issues....

Completely true. Im not in the car business so I dont know how you run a car business that does not allow test drives. That being said if you look at their inventory I dont know if Id want some guy I dont know driving my $ xxx, xxx car round. Im pretty positive that Cats had no idea there was a major issue and im also pretty positive that the owner of the car didnt know about the problem either. That even sounds wack to me as if my oil temp runs 3 degrees hotter one day I KNOW ABOUT IT. Either way Im glad I was able to align my ducks to protect me in this situation as...like I said...this could be a FAR different thread topic.
On another note my new ADV1's will be mounted and balanced by Wheelsboutique on Monday then they will ship to EVOMS and arrive on Friday. EVOMS will set the coilover height, corner balance and align all with the new wheels on. Sooo I hope so ship her to Austin mid next week and JUST in time to terrorize TX2K13.

Hope to see the car there, it's on my next to buy list and this is a perfect example.

You have to admit it's pretty spectacular to even consider that reality, but I'm sure it's true! Up where I live 600 whp is still pretty significant but in TX (particularly during TX2K13 time with visitors in town) it's probably only up to camera car duty! YIKES!

Don't worry though, my own Porsche isn't even fast enough to be a good camera car in that company, so the OP is way higher on the pecking order than I am!

Oh youd be surprised. Just gotta find the right "pack". Im not really a 4am 200mph down the beltway type of guy anyway. I do just fine in the back w the rest of the sub $250k builds.
