Damage by using plexus on clear bra?
Xpel tech stated in another thread on this forum that plexus should not be used on clear bra/film because it contains naptha. My Porsche salesman and other posters have recommended it and I've been using it for 2 years without a problem "yet". But I'm very concerned that after a few more years it may cause problems. Has anyone had a problem using plexus on their clear bra/film?
Yes I have heard that before as well. I think it depends on the film you have... and what color of car you have it on. If its not a white car or light silver you will be fine no matter what. But if its Xpel film I would not use it on the film or your warranty may not be any good. There are a lot of naptha based products out there that "burn" the film causing it to yellow. I usually recommend everyone not use those to avoid any issues.
Last weekend I did see first hand what a difference color can make when it came to aging clear bra products. I saw a white 997TT that had the film applied in front of the rear wheels (for stone chip protection) and it was visibly yellowing...definitely to a point where I'd have it removed/re-done as it didn't look good. I've had no such issues whatsoever with my Venture Shield protected black 996TT...but I have a feeling that the color is all important over time.
