Best laser defuser?

Looks like Blinder has a new HP905 fronnt/rear unit available. I used their M25 for 3 years or so with good luck. However, laser in my area seems to be lessened compared to radar for some reason. I know in California, laser is used a lot. What is consensus on best laser defuser unit available? Seems like I remember back last year that Blinder was not a favorite.

That is a good website for research. I have the passport 9500ci it works well has saved my but on more than a few occasions. I was stuck between the blinder and the passport. I liked having everything built in and hidden. So I went with the passport. Good luck with the new purchase

IMO LI is the best.

Talk to Cliff, the US rep, he will tell you why.

I have been happy with my K40 Calibre. Like the form factor. All hidden, front and rear radar, and laser defuser. Also has remote control and voice....I am sure there are many others. Mine was installed by the Porsche dealer and is undetectable. Nice integration with the car.

Good luck!

Don't mean to steal your thread but just wondering, regardless of which one is the best, are there any laser jammers you can buy that hook up suction cup style to your windshield like the V1 or Passport detectors do? It seems like all of the need to be installed professionally.

Thanks

I checked Interceptor....looks like no remote control for Main unit in the car's cabin. Did you have a hole drilled in the front firewall for incoming wires or does yours have a remote control to operate the ECU installed by the battery rather than having the ECU in the car's interior.?
With the M25, I didn't need to drill a hole in the front firewall, the ECU unit just set in that empty compartment next to the battery and unit was turned on and off by a remote control inside the cabin. . Made installation much easier. If you had a hole drilled, where about was it. I always worry about drilling under the dash because of the airbags. I known some use the hole for clutch pedal if the car has an auto=trans.

Please do research and look for real test results. Not this is what I like and this is what I spent. What ever you buy get it tested. There are groups/people out there that meet up and test installs. Do not listen to any shop unless they can tell you how they test thier installs. If they can't tell you what guns they test with or what group you can talk with then walk away. All they want is your money.
From my real world expereince and real world testing I would go with NOTHING but LI. They are able to update thier system via software flash to the latest jamming technology. Others you are stuck with what might have been good YEAR(S) ago. A lot of the forums try to keep this information out of the public eye for good reason. TX has outlawed jammers and other states are doing them same because they do work.
Again, do your research before you buy.

Professional install not necessary if the unit operates by remote. The M25 unit does. Can't find out if Interceptor does or not. Remote unit is Cheetah. If not remotely operated, a hole has to be drilled thru fireway which takes some know how with porsches because of danger of hitting airbag connections, etc. Most likely same with rear unit, that too has to come thru a drilled hole unless remote works there too. My unit is only front.

I may be wrong, but I have heard only radar jammers are outlawed, but not laser jammers. Hospitals use laser and from what I gather the use of laser jammers as a consequence are not illegal, but there could be exceptions which I have never heard of until the above.

In installation of K40 laser system, was a hole needed to be drilled in firewall or can a remote like Cheetah be used??

As a person who has been involved in testing the units not just talking about what you have read or what other people have done or just the one unit you have in your car I will say...

From my experience and from testing and from what is in both of my cars the blinder series is, was and still is one of your best defence's against laser..... Some other systems out there may have better packaging but they do not have better protection. The latest firmware update for the Blinder has made it a top dog.

Seriously though the LI is a very good working unit too, there has been so much debate about which of these two units are better. Either unit is money well spent in my opinion. And the LI guys are well know for good customer service and Blinder has been kicked in the ********* from a few bad eggs. Both products are the best a company has to offer in an industry where people want to sling mud.

I myself go blinder with a STI+ in one car and then Blinder with a STI Magnum in the other. The STI Magnum also see's use in the truck as it is mainly a hiway vehicle so I wanted portability between the two vehicles. About a two weeks ago I got Pop'ed while in my truck on the hiway going about 25 kph over. Thankfully all I got was a flash of the red and blues. Simply put there is no better protection then obeying the LAW.

That forum link above contains many personal views and I wil say that there are a few people on there with a very tainted biased view.

Lidar jammer laws vary by states. TX outlawed them Oct of 2011. I have yet to see anyone post that has been caught yet.
As to K40. I have the K40 calibre radar (newer RL360 version is out but no one has tested the lidar jammers yet) system in my car because it came with it. My V1 blows it away by 4-5 second everytime in big L mode and by a lot more in A mode. K40 made good CB antennas at one time but as to radar detectors and jammers they are right there with whistler.
