Clutch Slave Cylinder

Well looks like it is starting to go bad as I found a small puddle of Pentosin fluid on the floor today. I knew it was just a matter of time as I had the accumulator replaced a few months ago. A few questions....

1) Has anyone had luck with getting Porsche to fix this "goodwill" with the car out of warranty and not being the original owner

2) I've read that after 2009 Porsche fixed the problem so if repaired with the upgraded part if should not happen as frequently. Any way to confirm this?? Did they change the design in the 997.2?? If not any 997.2 with this problem??

If there is no way to confirm this I was planning on changing to the GT2 setup to avoid failures in the future. As I have read there is no warning to when this will fail but I know it will eventually happen so I was going to get it fixed soon to avoid arriving on a flatbed.

Thanks

Rich

I had a friend have PCNA cover cost of labor, but he paid for the parts through the dealership as an out of warranty repair.

I was just out of warranty by a month or two and way under in miles PNA paid for mine. Dealer went to bat for me.

Thanks for the info......guess it will not hurt to ask

On another note, How much more time would it take to change the clutch as well. If it is not going to add much I'm thinking of adding the Sachs Stage 2.5 clutch kit.

If I'd do it again I'm switching to the GT2 slave which doesn't leak and has a better feel.

Make sure you try that unassisted clutch first.
With the ignition off, depress the clutch pedal about 30 times... it will get really stiff. See how you like it because that's what you will have to live with after the conversion.

Cheers, A
