So I picked up a cracked Werks1 carbon lip from the FS section..... Pics of progress
You missed the part where I said Im now a professional.
J/k thanks for the advice. To fill you in on the part thag is not shown innthe pics. There is a 12" piece of carbon bonded to the back side of the cracked area. Trust me the piece is stronger now than when it left the Werks 1 facility. Again...thanks for the input. Im hoping my ****ty garage job holds up. Time will tell.

I am a composite boat builder by trade and use carbon on a daily basis. Nice job on getting the repair to look good but do yourself a favor and taper out the repair (on the back side) at least 40% (75-100% would be better if the space will allow it) on each side to make sure that it just dosnt break again. For un-cored parts with a twill cover this is the only way to do reliable repair.
Editing this to make it more clear. It looks like your repair is roughly 23mm-30mm wide so I would put on at least 2 cover plys over the whole thing 40mm-50mm then a 60mm cover over that. Also alternate the lay of the twill (currently 0-90 to +45 and then -45 just to make sure the repair is rock solid)
The other thing is I am not sure why the back part of the repair is glossy but aim for 40% resin ration...to much resin will make the part brittle and simply crack off.
Cheers
