I'm looking at purchasing a Porsche in Hollywood, FL 33027 and the seller is willing to take it to a shop of my choice for a PPI but I would also like to have someone visually look over the car for me.

I will be buying it sight unseen and pretty much need a fellow member to do a walk around and check for signs of past paint or accident history. Also check for door dings, rock chips, wear and tear or what not. No mechanical inspection needed unless its a shop that can also give me a DME report so I don't have to take it to Porsche for a PPI.

I know the PPI will give me a thorough mechanical inspection but the techs really don't give it a thorough exterior inspection such as a body shop would and that's what I am looking for.

If you can assist ill reimburse for your time and expense OR if someone can recommend a good shop that can assist in the area I'm happy to go that route. Just want to make sure I know what I am getting into before it arrives.

I'm looking for the same type of detailed inspection which isn't hard to spot if you know what to look for.

 

great idea sight unseen is a hit or miss deal either an honest seller or a POS and u have no recourse if something is not right i'm sure there's some members/sponsors here that can assist a fellow 6speedonliner. If none, a PPI is your best bet but there's also some private companies that can do it for you visual and mechanical they can also assist in transport and finance and can renegotiate the price, 7 years ago i sold my 69 BB vert Vette to an individual from Kentucky (i'm from NJ) sight unseen for a lot of $$$ and a guy from nowhere came and inspected my car,drove it ,and took it somewhere to look underneath and took like 90 photos of everything and 4 days later i received the wire transfer, i think the name of the company is Buyer Services not sure if the're still around hope it helps and good luck with your buy.

Thanks for the info. I checked their website and the prices don't look bad at except they won't be able to give me a DME report. I'll keep them as a worst case scenario if I can't get any dealer in the FL area to do a PPI.
