Hey guys. So I just got back from the drag strip tonight and I am still grinning ear to ear. This is the first time ever I have taken the 997.2 Turbo S out to the drag strip. Coming up to the tree on my first run I didn't know what to expect. This is also my first time ever using launch control with the PDK system. I read that you put sport plus on, traction control off, hold your foot on the brake and gas, its rev till about 4500-5000 and then let off the brake and it shoots you off like a rocket. It was the quite the experience. When I initially launched the first time, I thought that you had to shift using the paddle shifters yourself and didn't realize till the next run that the car can shift for itself. Long story short i pull up to the booth where they hand you the slip and anxiously i take it and look at it. I see two times, 11.164 and 10.672. I couldn't believe it at first and thought they gave me the wrong slip. As I am looping around I was thinking back to the race. I raced a all motor mustang on radials and he got the initial jump but i reeled him pretty hard so I obviously had the quicker time. Still startled I see the mustang I raced and pull up to him to see if in fact that was the slip from our race. I ask and sure enough he replies, "That was one hell of race, 10.6 for stock car is out of the world". At that point i knew it was true. The Porsche 997.2 Turbo S is hands down one of the sickest and one of my most favorite cars i have ever driven and for a completely bone stock car to run a 10.672 @129.80 mph, it has surpassed my level of expectation. From what i recall the last quickest time was done my Road and Track in which they ran a 10.7 @ 128 mph if I am not mistaken. Anyways I thought I would share with you guys because this has made my weekend.

Haha you would think but the first run which is the run I did the 10.6 I shifted myself using the paddle shifters. The next two runs I let the car shift itself and i ran a 10.8 both times. So pretty interesting results.
