I grabbed some info from Tip car we are finishing up. This 997 also has an aftermarket open filter intake.

84 degree day

idle IAT was 107 degree

2nd thru 3rd gear pull we saw 116 degree

This was at approx 1.5 bar / 800 awhp.

please let me know if I can be of any further assistance

This car also had one of the 'Hot air intakes' on it, hence the 107 degree intake air temps when cruising. 30 deg F over ambient just cruising. If we sat at idle with the car not moving it would probably go even higher.

Hello Larry,

Would you be willing to share a datalog of peak temperatures on a high speed run? It would be very useful for those of us who are looking to invest in improved ICs.

Looking at your post, it appears your idle temp was very high, even for the ambient temperatures with the aftermarket intakes.

I didn't see a comment on the 'air inlet tubes'. Do you believe that one would not experience a benefit by changing the Porsche stock inlet tubes? I hear from many sources that the stock tubes are restricted in size by the body and frame and therefore cannot provide as much air to the turbos as the fenderwell intakes do. I would think that by dramatically reducing the air flow distance to the turbos and providing a higher volume of air to the turbos that we would receive a quicker spoolup and reduced lag. Has anyone dyno'd a before and after?

I will see if I can get you a log as you've requested. The idle temps were high due to the open aftermarket intakes.
