Expected price drop in the 997TT and GT2
Guys,
As the 991 Turbo has just been released but none are being supplied yet, is it the wrong time to buy a low mileage used 997.2 Turbo or GT2?
If one is willing to wait six months will prices likely drop a lot?
Thanks

Disclaimer: I own a 997.1 Turbo.
That said, I don't think it will affect the prices all that much. The people looking at buying a $160-180k car are not the same people buying a $70-90k car. I'm sure it will drop a little, as cars do with time - but I don't expect a meteoric drop. Historically this is the case as well with 911s, they tend to hold their value pretty well.

Same goes for the final gen GT3 to have a 3 pedal manual.
good luck finding one
i paid MORE for MY 997 last month than i could have paid for the exact same car 1 year ago (with 10k less miles) when it was for sale by the previous owner.
997.1 + manual + pccb's = keep this car.
the 997.1 is the best turbo ever produced. will become an icon.

I don't know guys I somewhat struggled to sell my 2008 manual with cpo and 11k miles. I guess t's all about timing and luck. Overall I think the car held its value well over the years but will continue to drop with 991tt.

I expect zero drop in gt2 prices.
same as above, MT 997 are going to hold their ground. people spending 200k for new are not people wanting to spend under 100 used... there will always be a 997TT market.. same as the older turbo's.
997.1 w. MT being the most desired.

Does anyone know what percentage of Porsche purchased pre PDK were Tiptronic versus manual?
I suspect that the number of automatics/PDK have been increasing from 996s to 997s to 997.2s. If this is true, I think customer migration to PDK will probably continue to increase, and the market for manual equipped cars will continue to shrink.
It'll take a very specific type of Porsche owner looking for the Mezger engine and a manual equipped car. Sadly, I think this segment is small.
