Porsche 991 GT2 spotted testing
I bought my turbo because its a sporty fast car and sporty fast cars require sporty manual transmissions.
Porsche turbo, GT2, GT3 are not GT -cars. Cars like ferrari, aston martin, mercedes, bentley, maserati, BMW M6, etc., are GT-cars and can get away with auto-trans because their products are more classy and sophistigated drives and too, owner wives/kids might want to drive it to impress their lady friends/school friends and sure don't want to be bothered with a manual shift...heaven forbid. Such a shame Porsche has to be so rigid on this choice....I tried pdk in a boxer and a panamera for weekend drives....both losers for sports car enjoyment(imo).

Just shows you how many people cannot drive or are very lazy drivers hence the GTR or PDK turbo lol
The few manual lovers that are left are getting shafted aye.
But to assume they are lazy is a stretch. I can think of other possibilities.
Don't want to work a clutch in traffic.
Don't want to be slower than others.
Enjoy the F-1 style thrill of a fast car.
Enjoy listening to others complain when they 'miss a shift'.
Enjoy hearing comments on 'If I had a dual clutch, I would not have lost ground during shifts'.
Injured or otherwise impaired.
A woman.
Etc...

Or just plain ol' preference.
And LF-A, and Ferrari, and Alfa 4C, etc...

Preference yes I agree but cant help having an opinion

P.S. the only reason in my mind that the Germans would ditch the manual is because its slower and less efficient but other than that we would still have a manual!!!

I am sorry, I have to ask, as I love GT2 but am doubtful about it's all-around car credentials... Where do you live? Do you drive when it rains?
I ask because GT2 comes with semislicks and I think one cannot even replace them with normal road tires, can one? If it is always semislicks then driving on wet roads must be very dangerous and the performance on tap is mostly wasted.
Would you care to comment, I am very interested!
(Would love to change my 997T to GT2, but am afraid that would be a waste of money and power.

)I even have snow tires for it - it's fine up until the point where the ground clearance becomes an issue. I'm able to drive into early January when snow starts to accumulate, and am back on the roads in mid March. I haven't tried all winter long, not so much because I don't think it wouldn't handle it, but I worry about my fellow drivers sliding into me.
I heard this rumor too, and have yet to see a spy photo with yellow calipers:
I think its a GT3 with fake inlets on the fenders. Its has no outlets for the intercooler exhaust, Carbon rotors and the center GT3 exhaust is another giveaway. Probably GT3 RS

**Unusually** pretty shot! Wow!!
A quarter of a million dollars is a lot. OTOH, California real estate is booming again and DOW is at 15,000; the possibilities are endless for dreamers like me
. Porsche is very lucky with the timing of this car.

Possibly, but these vents look real:
