Porsche 991 GT2 spotted testing

The latest sightings of the upcoming Porsche 911 GT2 at the Nurburgring.

This latest 911 variant should be the fastest 911 yet. Very limited camouflage, revealing a nearly identical GT3 body, but intercooler inlets like the Turbo. Rumored power source to be a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged boxer-six with an output that should match the Turbo S, which is rated at 560 hp and 516 lb-ft and a a seven-speed dual clutch.

InSpeedWeTrust is infamous around these parts
I know people are saying 991 gt2 but it clearly looks like the new 3RS. Wider front fenders and same exhaust setup, plus theres a video floating around with no turbo sound.

Whatever it is, it looks awesome!

Although, I'd expect the GT2 to have a little more power than just 560HP, seems a little low. I mean, if the Turbo S is already going this much, why not bump it up to ~580 or 600HP?

And I hate that crap about - it is going to be the "fastest 911 yet". Really? No kidding. I thought the new GT2 would have been slower than previously released.

All of those advertisements:
The best BMW 5-series ever
The most innovative Sentra ever
The most fuel efficient hybrid Prius ever
The most powerful towing capacity for an F150 ever

We get it - new model, better than last.

I'd love someone to say - well, we have this new model, but it isn't as good as the one it is replacing...

LOL @ marketing.

Fast is relative - this revision of the 911 has to compete against it's own 911 brethren - including the GT2RS which quite frankly, really WAS the fastest 911 around the track, but not necessarily the fastest 911 in a straight line.

Anyone want to make a prediction on the price considering the current price of the Turbo S?

I care more about how much in value our 997GT2's will go up, since people will long for the MT instead of the PDK. My car is already valued at 20k more than when I bought it, and have put 10k miles on it. Love it

This may be an assumption. Perhaps an incorrect assumption?

Time will tell. The market will decide this. I, personally feel that Porsche already took the sales numbers, and saw there wasn't a great enough demand for MT to continue. Will the value of an MT GT2 go up? Maybe, but to a very small niche (comparatively).

Then its safe to say that others part of the VW group did the numbers as well and decided to continue offering manuals (ie. R8/Gallardo replacement)? I guess the acquired executives at Audi and Lambo have bigger *****.

I personally have little issue with PDK, but many many do. And yes there are many who like and will buy the newer one with PDK. I think the older models with MT will be considered more valuable by those, who are the must have MT. Which is fine with me. Other than my car being very limited production, why else is it now going up in value.

No, I wouldn't say that at all. Porsche seized the opportunity to move this direction because of an engine/chassis change. The R8 didn't not change the engine, nor the chassis. When they do, I suspect the same direction will be taken. I honestly feel, though, that a single clutch manual may be in the future for a GT3 trim level. But regarding the R8-MT, this comment should be reserved for when the new chassis comes out. My money is on dual clutch only.

Lamborghini? Easy - platform sharing.
