At least the weather in the SW will still be ok with no snow when you get it back. It would kill me to get the car back and not be able to drive it.
Can't say yet. I'll try and post something about it soon though.

Yeah we have great weather here until April. Never snows just gets very cold in the winter. I think 30's is the coldest. Nothing like some of you guys. It's horrible having the car in the summer here. 115 degrees gets the car over heating pretty quick.

It will be close. Intercity lines takes about 7 days door to door from when they pick her up. We'll see, should be a good chance though.

I'll see you there! I'm brining my 997.2. I signed up with my M3 (which is much faster) but I want to see how this car does - meaning how bad I lose But it's like a dyno...I want to get a baseline first and then start modding. I should have a tune (Champion/GIAC) in time for the event. Just picked up the car yesterday

Congrats on an incredible build! Looking forward to seeing how it performs at the Airstrip races. I'm at all the Shift Sector and NoFlyZone events so I'll see you there when it's ready!

Awesome, I'll definitely be attending the events when my car is done. Looking forward to meeting you. Congrats on your car. Thomas @GIAC is a cool guy and will take great care of you.

Yes, going private party you can not get a CPO, but I'm not looking for that I mod my cars. If your not going to mod cpo is the way to go IMO.

The engine warranty with my build?

In Nevada, when you buy private party there is no sales tax. It's on the Nevada DMV website. So without the dealer markup and sales tax and fees all out of the picture it makes more sense to buy private party. I did just buy a new civic Si as a daily from the dealer. Got 4k off msrp on a 24,000 car so I do know how to negotiate. Like I said on higher priced cars like a 997tt I would go private party. On a cheaper car doesn't matter as much. Hope that clears things up.
Yes, thanks!

Wow, no sales tax on private party transaction!

Yes, going private party you can not get a CPO (snip)

I don't think everyone knows "that".

I'm not that well read here on 6speed yet, but am over on RL. I doubt there is a significant difference between the two groups of readers.

But I'll bet most of the Porsches purchased that I read about are from dealers of some kind.

Many, if not most, want a CPO when buying a later model tt, thus purchase mainly through a dealer. But they still won't pay an unreasonable price.

Dealers often have nice inventories, are able to find sufficient lending resources, and often purchase their inventory from trades and auctions, where their buying price may be exceedingly low, so.......

...for those that are comfortable in a spirited negotiation w a salesperson, a great "deal" can be had. Every bit as good as through a private party, IMO.

Private sellers know the going price for their vehicle in the marketplace, and price accordingly. I just don't see these killer deals out there from the private sector, and I looked!

Your build is unusual, many buyers are more concerned about whether the vehicle has front license plate holes and what can be done about them.

I'm not a dealer or salesperson, and have purchased from both private parties and dealers.

My '08 tt came from an independent auto group.

I probably paid too much, lol!!!

Peace!

Welcome to 6speed!

Like I said before, everyone is different. I prefer to mod my cars, others don't. Yes private party sellers know the market value well, but they will still drop a price much quicker than a dealer will IMO. I'm not saying don't buy from a dealer, just in Nevada it makes more sense to go private party.

Oh my. Very nice power. Little laggier than I expected, but the powerband is stout.

He's going to warranty the stock engine making that power and revving to 7800?

Tym ran a 5.08 (verified on 6speed 60-130 list) with him 240lbs and another passenger on a flat road. I havn't gotten her back yet, but when I do trust me I will be getting into the 4's!

There was a miscommunication about the warranty. I Found out later on in the build that Switzer only warranties their builds if the customer has a built motor by Switzer. The only way Switzer covers it is if it blows becuase of a software error or an error on Switzers end which caused it. Obviously if it blew after 4 months of driving her I'm sure Tym would cover it.
