Gtechniq C1 Crystal Lacquer sealant has been very good for me so far. It’s my detailer’s gold standard. Was previously discussed (with photos) here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ml#post3887170
The detailer applied sealant to my wheels, although I can’t say whether it was the same Gtechniq product used on the paint. I have PCCB so the wheels are never very dirty, but what dirt there is cleans up easily with diluted car shampoo. Hard to say how much of that is attributable to the wheel sealant. Although harsh wheel cleaner chemicals are not necessary, after reading other detailers’ opinions on another forum, I’m particularly staying away from using harsh chemicals around the ceramic rotors.

No swirls, but to be fair it’s only been two months, the car has only had a full wash twice since, and I’m extremely careful with the paint when I wash it—two buckets, grit guards, a different wash pad used for the upper part of the vehicle from the dirtier lower part. But the beading and slickness of the surface remain pretty remarkable so far. What’s been your experience?

2 buckets, one fresh water and one w/ soap
clean fresh microfiber, no tag, preferable the kind w/o any sewn seams
start at top, do small sections, do wheels alone w/ separate cloth
after dunking into soap and washing, dunk and rinse into fresh water removing any crud, even using the hose if necessary
this will decrease any chances of swirls etc

Like you, I needed to learn the proper way to wash my vehicle. My office building has a lesser quality detailer based in our parking garage that has always taken care of my cars and it turns out I was clueless about proper technique. The high end detailer that applied the Gtechniq seal to my TTS sold me the necessary products and showed me how to wash it the right way. Essentially, it’s what handdoc outlines. What I’ve also learned since is if it’s garaged and out of the weather, you can keep it looking great with wipe downs with high quality detail spray when it has minimal dust, and waterless wash spray when it has more than minimal dust on it. A full wash is needed when it’s been driven in the rain or otherwise is too dirty for a wipe down. High quality microfiber towels are key. The TT is compact enough that it takes very little time to do a complete wipe down.

unfortunately i dont have a garage. those are tough to find in brooklyn. i've got a driveway. the car is exposed to the elements 24/7. I hand wash it once a week and wax.
I've got 2 buckets, i've got a foam gun that attaches to the hose (works pretty well), I've got seperate washing mitts for the car, the wheels, and the rock panels. I'm hoping that by learning the right technique (the detailer is going to give me a lesson in washing and waxing), i can be as close to swirl free as possible. Handoc, how are you drying your car ? I use a dedicated shop vac to air dry it.

I've washed it about four times, twice since the Gtechniq application. To dry, I blow excess water off, then dry with a good waffle weave microfiber using Ammo Hydrate while drying.

I have this as well. I purchased my at detailers domain simply because in NY the shipping was much less.

Im surprised no one has suggested C.Quartz. Its a ceramic based protectant that lasts for 2 years. I had my 997 done a few weeks ago. Its amazing. My detailer used C.Quartz Finest, which is the professional formula. I think the consumer version is supposed to be almost as good and a lot cheaper. As with opticoat, surface preparation and product application is of paramount importance to the performance of the product.
