TTS wheel spacers?

Okay, so I apologize because this has probably been covered in 100 previous posts, but I'm thinking of putting spacers on and wanted some expert opinions to my questions:

- First, can you really tell the difference? I see some cars going down the road in the past and they just look more aggressive...not sure if it is because they are lowered or wheel spacers...or both.

-What is the "recommended" spacing on front are rears before it will affect warranty, ride, or performance?

-Where would I acquire said spacers?

-Any before/after pictures available by chance?

Thanks in advance for the help!

If you have center locks no spacers.

Personally I wouldn't change the offsets with spacers. Also any spacer is going to require longer lug bolts. 7mm front and 15mm rear might work but why change what Porsche thinks is best for your car.

spacers do not affect ride or performance they are purely for decorative purposes, (in most cases anyway, could also be used to help clear big brake kits for example)

look at your rims, do you like where they sit or do you think they would look better sticking out more, if you think they would look better sticking out more then figure out how much further you want them to stick out and order that size of spacer (with the appropriate necessary longer bolts)

if you cant tell the difference between a car thats been lowered and one with spacers then you need to search more and educate yourself (no offence).

because they were wrong

they also thought that front bumper warts were best for the car, and a shifter with a crazy long throw was best for the car, and cup holders that are terrible....i could go on

Changing suspension dynamics is a little different than coping with an ill designed cup holder.

are you saying it negatively effects the suspension ?

and i wasnt saying that porsche crappy cup holders were the same as bad stance, i was making the point that just because porsche designed it a certain way doesnt mean it was the best way

Spacers on the rear make the track wider in back which increases understeer or decreases oversteer, however you want to look at it - whether that is considered negative is based on driving experience and the knowledge that spacers can cause changes. Here's some good reading:

For what it's worth, my car came from the factory with 15mm spacers and narrowbody rear wheels.

H&R offers spacers in various widths starting at 5mm, if memory serves. I had a set on my last Porsche (rears only) for the reasons mentioned already and noticed no adverse effects. They build a great quality product too. (Longer wheel bolts will be req'd).

To your original questions...Someone indicated the likely best size. 7 MM front and 15 MM rear. Get the aluminum hub centric type and quality extended (correct length) lug bolts to be safe. I put these on mine and it appears the wheels are right to the edge of the wheel opening, which is what I was going for. As someone else indicated, it is primarily for looks, but may slightly change driving characteristics.

You may note that the new 991 Turbo has an extended wheelbase and width also...Maybe they felt it was better? Porsche continually looks for ways to improve...and are not always spot on. Like NO AUX INPUT on a $3500 stereo...!!

Everyone has an opinion...This is just mine based on my experience and some facts I am aware of.

Good luck.

Another vote here for h and r spacers, I've been running them for a few years now with no issues. When you order from their site you can click a box to order the correct bolts, it's very straightforward.

Hmmm, I wish they made spacers for the centerlocks, I was hoping to find a solution.
