Thanks for the review. 7Gt2 and 12C are on my list but I have not been able to sit in a 12c to get an idea of the room. Care to comment on the interior room and your size? Thx for your honest opinions. Having owned a 6Gt2 I have felt the 7 was the pinnacle but for me the 12C is honestly another level totally. Plus the deals avail on the 12c make it far more compelling now

I like your phrase "road therapy." I'll have a better sense over the next several weeks.
Totally agree. 458 is also too flashy in comparison. More of an event to drive, but overall the MP is the better choice to have at home.

I'm 6'6", 220 and fit very nicely in the 4c. Getting in and out is the event. The tub chassis is like a bathtub.. You have to climb over.

Super jealous; although EVO just put a McLaren up against a new 991 GT3 on the track and the GT3 was faster!! So I am torn now what my current favorite car is...

Hi Alex - I saw that review.

Unknowns in the 991 GT3 are engine and suspension durability...although Porsche usually builds tough as nail vehicles. McLaren is pretty untested...and there have been issues, leaking SSG transmission, etc. However, for a daily driver, it has been very very nice.

One of my friends had a 997 Turbo for about 6 years and recently changed to a McLaren. He's already done 12k miles in it and absolutely loves it...

Excellent write up.

I'm trying to get the wife to come around to this car (she likes the 458, but I'm leaning towards the MP4-12C). I definitely appreciate the information and method of delivery in this thread.

I don't follow the 60-130 stuff. For comparison, what is the 60-130 of a stock 997.1?

I test drove the 12C twice, and tend to agree, it is a worthy replacement to the GT2. They managed to create a turbo engine which feels like an NA engine (linear acceleration), and no matter how hard I pushed it in 40c+ weather, the vitals remained unchanged. Mind blowing car.
