997 turbo gen 1 to gen 2 LED indicator problem

I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!
For three days I have been trying to sort out my rear indicators which don't work on my LED conversion,
I basically own a 2009 porsche 997 turbo cab,
I have used all original porsche parts to convert the rear end of my car to a gen 2.
According to other post I have read on different sites, my car already has the late control units.
I have tried several times to follow instructions on doing the pin swop but still have not succeeded.
I have seen a porsche specialist who owns the piwis software to programme my car to tell it that we now have LED lights installed.
But still no joy.
Does anyone know anyone or have the knowledge to make everything work normally.
I WILL PAY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN JUST PLEASE HELP.

Kind regards

Tarik.

Hello Tarik,

Pin swap in the front control module is the only way.

Read some of these threads below.

Sirschwag made an interesting comment on my thread. You will need an electrician to verify his statement.

If there is no one local to you who is able to do the pin swap correctly, then the best solution is to buy an 07-08 front control module used and plug the FVD control box to your rear lights and everything will work fine. Slightly expensive route and not an absolute recommendation.

Hope this helps.

Hi there mate im from london too.

If you need some help i have a set of FVD rear light converters in my car for the gen 2 conversion and we could plug them in to see if it cures the problem if you like.

I also have a PIWIS to clear any faults.

The fvd modules will not work with 09 control modules. Only 07-08. I tried and it failed. Best of luck.

I did the conversion 2 years ago but only recently realized that my indicators only work intermittently. Everything else works on the tail lights but the indicators 100% of the time. I'm thinking the original owner put in a newer front control module. This thread if helpful because it suggests something I had not thought about and that is purchasing a 07-08 control module and keeping my FVD controllers. Today I removed the FVD units and tried to go directly into the car's harness but I forgot that they do not mate exactly. I need to get this figured out because I can get a ticket for not indicating.

I need to verify if I have the newer control module in front but I don't know how to access it? I'm tempted to take it to the dealer but I don't have confidence they will understand the pin swapping etc... and modification of the wire harness for proper mating. Any other help will be appreciated.

Tarik,

Can you share what you ended up doing to get your indicators to work? I'm having similar issues.

Thanks,

Tom
