Porsche Race/Driving School Recommendations?

Okay guys,

So I am currently running Time Trials with NASA and Expert Run group with PCA in my 997.1TT. I am looking to take my personal driving ability to the next level and am looking at some type of Race school. From a quick search, it appears most people refer to the Porsche Sport Driving School and that the Masters Class would be good for someone of my level.

However, my primary concern is I want to go to a race/driving school where I am driving my own car. While I respect the fact that the basics are the same and that theoretically if you are fast in one car you can be fast in another etc, that is not what I am looking for.

I am currently located in Memphis, TN and am hoping that someone can recommend a high level (not quite F1, but not a HPDE either) driving/race school where I can drive my own vehicle and improve my skillset. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You will not be allowed to use your own car at PSDS or any other "school" that I can think of. I've done PSDS up to Masters. It's a good course, but if you're doing TT and higher run groups in DE you need to hire a PROFESSIONAL Racer/Coach.

That will be by far, the biggest bang for your buck. Be prepared to spend $1,000-$1,500 per day plus expenses. PSDS masters has to be close to 5K. I can guarantee you will get more out of 1 day with a legit pro than the masters course.

When I got into tracking I decided I was going to hire someone that actaully does this for a living. There are some very fine volunteer instructors but there are some really bad ones as well. I've used this one person and wouldn't have changed a thing.

The winter season is starting up at Sebring with a lot of events. I would look into finding an open track event where there are no run groups and LOTS of track time. If you really want to see what is going on, get a basic Traqmate and look at the data compared to a pro after he's done some data laps.
