Anyone repaint entire car?
Obviously I'm a Porsche fan myself, but I wouldn't characterize myself as a purist in any sense. If one believes there are performance mods available that improve upon the German engineering, why would the paint be so special?
A top shop with heavily experienced pros will be able to do this, and do it right. 10k-15k easy. And weeks to complete.
Complete disassembly and reassembly, and no, it won't chip any easier than factory IF the shop knows what they are doing.
If it were me, I'd keep the wrap. Repainting is a nightmare, even when done right, and the devaluation is massive.
If you truly do not care about value, go see the best shops you can find, and see their work, spend some time with the working crew (painters, assembly guys, etc), and the owner. Then get some opinions from their customers, and ask some local dealers.
Good luck.

What is it about factory paint that is considered more durable?
Dude, your car is off the hook. You commented how unique it looks with the wrap. Besides the $10k you spend in paint, you lose another $10k plus in devaluation due to the paint.
Factory paint is in a totally perfect environment. From the bare metal. On a body shell completely off the frame. And then probably heat cured and polished. You can get just as good a job, but it will cost a lot.
If you are looking to do something new, take the money and do a .2 conversion to the rear. Or even a GT3 center exit exhaust. Would complement your front end. Or strip of the white wrap and do a gloss blue or something else (I guess blue might not be the best color choice with your red interior, but who knows).

Here's a few pics of the car at SEMA.

I saw a truck at SEMA that was plastidipped. And another that was dipped entirely in black bed liner. Both looked amazing.
As a few others have said. The paint will NOT be as durable. I did a complete resto paintjob on an older car and the paint was in good shape like yours. Cost me $6500 and I kept the same color.
1. Whatever color you paint it, 110% wrap the nose in 3M clear bra.
2. If you are going to do a repaint, go with something different. White is so plain. Maybe that lite primer gray looking color.
3. Since your car is black, I would not do the engine bay.

Thanks. I might just do another wrap after this one needs to be replaced.

Ok Jeremy time for me to chime in don't bother painting it's not worth it, I realize it was a different shade due to the wrap wasn't as bright as my factory Carrera White when we had em side to side but I think you should do as others have commented just have it re wrapped in a brighter white period!

I had Modern Image in San Diego do it and I think their retail price is north of $4K.
