Question for pdk drivers

Recently, as my 6-speed 997.1 was getting repaired, was given 1st a panamera and then a boxer both with pdk boxes. When I was using manual paddle-mode and in first gear when the engine rpm hit the rev-limiter, car got all confused and slowed down and hitting more paddle wheels or whatever I could think of, would not bring car under my control for a few seconds. This left me in an extremely hazardous situation.
This behavior is not like this with my 6-speed. If I forget to shift and rev-limiter is hit, I can immediately shift to second and instantly be on my way pushing the beast forward with total control.
Is this peculiar behavior the same with the turbos? That is, with pdk in manual mode and the rev-limiter is hit that there is no control of the car until the computer decides what to do?? This suggests to me it is best to stay in the automatic mode for safety
. In my beast, that 0-40 comes too fast to always worry about the car pausing/reevaluating because I forgot to shift.

In my car with the PDK sometimes when the car is cold and I am in sport plus manual, I never drive the car in any other mode I will hit the shift paddle and the car will stay in 1st gear until it hits the revlimiter and immediately shift to 2nd. It does not do that in any other gear. Does not seem to do that when the car is warmed up. I have been told by the dealer to bring it in and leave it for the night so they can replicate this. I think I am just going to use my phone and video tape it.

The slowing down is usually what happens when you hit the revlimiter and the car attempts to stop you from destroying the engine. When I had my manual TT I hit it a few times while pulling onto the freeway and it was like someone dropped an anchor.

I have not hit the rev limiter often (or on purpose) but when I did the car really slows until the revs retreat and then it goes back to normal. I can shift the car up and it continues to pull.

I did not realize hat in sport plus I had to shift and that is why I hit the limiter.

I think if you are in manual it will not shift for you, you have to pull the paddle. The car is scary quick in the auto mode. I also think the computer learns the way you drive and adjusts to your driving style.
