forgot I ever started this thread - well - I dropped a valve and kaboom; rebuild; back on the road ... breaking her in . 600ish miles .. wastegates .9BAR - feels pretty good; while i was down got the head done my Todd McKinzie - OEM TT flowed 220 ish after my head work the heads are flowing north or 320/330 something at .5" - also mated the heads to a custom gt3 intake setup by BBI.
hope she stays together ...
enough of the boring stuff well a couple of vids
This M3 found me at toys for tots drive and said - hey you !! you are the one that smoked me - I did not recall - he said he had it on video and was nice enough to share.. not a real fair race
I raced Adam twice and he pulled about 1 car on me @ .9BAR and I decided to turn on the boost controller (first time) 1.4 BAR. He also said on this 1.4 bar run he did not pursue bec there were cars in front of me but even at the take off I thought these 35s did very well vs VTG68s (Cobb E85) (20 psi)
the edits/comments are not mine nor my idea - just wanted to share ..
on .9 BAR - kill list - new SRT viper (640 hp) ; R8 V10; 2015 Turbo S - that come to mindmind
Tood K - e85 setup... triple in tank - there is a saddle that goes around the in tank twins which - not sure which feeds what ... from the tank to rail -8 teflon/stainless lines - return -6 same.
Intake - Betim /BBI /IPD - This piece actually fit "direct" replacement with OEM - had to ditch the secondary air but side affects almost nothing even on cold starts - stacks 996 GT3 - the big volume part 997 GT3 - mated to IPD Plenum - 82mm TB
Heads - Todd McKinzie - chillest 1 man shop machine shop - port matched to 996 gt3 stack- intake valves -40mm - exhaust 34mm
I popped the intake mani off between the stacks and runners anything above 1 bar - strapped the runners down from 4 corners ... so far so good .. lil timid about turning her up ...
as long as she stays together - YES - I would love to ... there has always been an excuse why I keep missing them... i made it to the 1st SS and 1st NFZ - when I bought the car 3 years ago from Todd K ...and drove it to CA from Arkansas. Car was Proto 800 - on stock internals on 3076s ... a few upgrades since then ..
rolling - 2nd gear (for me) - about 35 mph. i am having some clutch issues - wont get out of gears at certain times. Every time i shifted he was catching closer to me. We ran 3 times. Top of 5th I always had about 1-2 cars on him.
Now sure if elevation affects him as much as me (turbo cars) but we were at 3000 ft elevation and car felt slower than usual.
HTA35 .82 A/R - I ran similar bikes w my 3076s .. with similar results but I think I was at least 1.85ish and 3076s after 1.85 ( I even cranked up to 2.1 BAR) - I did not feel the car getting any faster...
