I want to try bigger turbos though...

Have you made any new changes to your car lately?

Thank you ...I was having a night mare trying to figure out what the heck was going on w the car ... It has ALL hardware and then some to lay down 1000-1100 to the tires .. but it has been on and off and sometimes it goes for it sometimes NO go ... ? weird .. thought it was a boost leak ..bad spark / coil - replaced all plugs and coils .. maybe bad O-ring on injector leaking etc ? Replaced injectors (while in there put in 2100 cc vs the 1680... saga continued ...

called Garth -UCR- thinking about ditching OEM ECU ; bough a PRoEFI .. getting ready .. finally what had been on and off .. gave out .. only then i thought hmm EBC/EVC ... took it out temporarily put in a MBC - CAR RIPS.

Just data logged the car .. (car is on 1680 cc tune - with 2100 cc injectors) 1.7 Bar fuel trims are .75 (pulling max out) -lambdas .72- .73 .. pretty rich ... I HAVE timing pulling twice to red line .. hoping that is due to too rich but Mr Todd K will tell - will send logs Monday ...

If all is well and if he cleans up the tune .. and no knock and AFR/lambda close to .79.. and another 10 psi .. it should give the 1K awhp... all speculations...

some light around/at the end the tunnel... as it turns out (besides from my EVC/EBC being bad) I had a cable that was cooked got crispy on top of my fuel tank top hat... it was on and off on and off - and eventually popped a fuse...

Replaced fuse ... (mickey mouse fixed cable for testing) - for the first time @1.6 bar .. car did NOT pull any timing to red line climbed 19...20...21...22.5 degrees of timing to red line on a 4th gear pull - short trims .75 (plenty of fuel to crank it up ); lambdas .77-.80

Thinking roll out to No Fly Zone .. test and log and crank it up ...or just sit 1 more out and fix crap..

Plan is to run a fuse relay direct from battery; fix/get new EVC... then see how she feels @2.3 bar .. decide to install or not to install ProEFi...

a good aftermarket ecu like ProEFI with traction control will take a car like that to a completely different level.

still have the Pro Efi at hand ... after fixing all minor issues - I got the car to log almost perfectly and strong @ 1.7 BAR - few weeks later car not running soo great - logs showing WAY too rich and it is taking 25% out and still rich lambdas @ .72 ?? hmm hopelessly changed O2s and MAP sensors - still no go. Just today wanted to track down the possible exhaust leak only to learn BOTH my headers have a hole - right at the collector. If I can get them repaired i will otherwise I may be hunting down some headers... AND still hoping THAT would throw off the readings of my logs ..

only because if there is HW issues - ProEfi will not fix the issue. AND I gotta say even at 1.7 bar when Todd Ks E85 tune did work properly.. This thing was moving. It could be that further I get from 1.5 BAR - tune will be less accurate but so far his brew is pretty wicked.

I was coordinating with Garth (UCR) March..April...May but I think he is really backed up. His trip to Cali never happened (AFAIK) and I got a little nervous committing to the install then be 2500 miles away ...

Holes in your headers will throw off your O2 sensor readings. Did they come apart due to heat at the welds? Stock ECU or proEFI? Post some logs up and we can try and help provide some pointers if you like. Running too rich just like running too lean will cause largely elevated EGTs and if welds on the manifold runners/collectors aren't great they can separate with time.

I agree that hiring a guy to tune your car that is thousands of miles away is tough and has its drawbacks.. but having worked with a lot of tuners, Garth really knows the proEFI/Porsche combo well. If you invest in his time (3-4 days with a mechanically ready car) I think you would be very happy. And I can assure you I am not a nut hugger, I would bust his ***** just as hard and have if he didnt deliver!
