I test drove a 2009 997TT TIP car for my Birthday last year, and I plan I getting one this year.

Are there 2 different options on the TIP?
This guy states in his add the TIP-S is an eight speed transmission.

now is the perfect time. these cars are always their cheapest during these winter months remember, the 997.1 is the last of the best motors. while most of us go for 6 speeds, a 997.1 tip will handle more power than any pdk 997 ever can, AND are fast as hell off the line.

Kyle,

There is no 8-spd 997 Tip as Steve wrote.

Only version is the 5-speed and its called ''Tip-S''.

Cheers

Thanks again for the info. I did a lot of homework before I decided on what I wanted.

2009 is the last year for Metzger power plant. The TIP is a beast when its built .

I love automatic turbo cars, always in boost.

Honestly, out of all the fast cars and their dual clutch trans or standard manuals; I dont think there is any better platform that can handle horsepower and make a car feel so comfortable and smooth at low speeds likes the tiptronic porsche with the standard torque converter trans.

Agreed,

There is something special about a hydraulic transmission and a turbo car. I loved the TIP car I drove, nice and smooth and can be built to accommodate High Power.

I was worried I would miss a 6-speed manual when I got my Turbo Tip. Not at all. The Tip is comfortable when you want to be and aggressive when you need it to be. Really nice on the track too.
