There is some mild drone in the 2200-2600 rpm range. The exhaust has a really nice cold start up and sounds wonderful with aggressive acceleration. Obnoxious loud is so subjective. As others have suggested I would certainly try and hear the GMG in person before buying.

FYI I just switched to a Kline system which was installed yesterday. It was pouring down rain and so I really haven't had a chance to really test it, but I was very happy on the drive home.

Where did you get it installed, GMP? We're in the same city (I live by uncc)! So good to see someone else with the same car be so close

I have actually used Hendrick Porsche for everything so far - Installation of the GMG, then swapping the GMG for Kline. I've also changed the spark plugs, brake flush, etc. The quality of the work is very good however you definitely will pay a little more. Quentin and Scott in the service department are good guys. I'm located in Matthews

GMP, Huewe Motorsports (near Foreign Cars Italia), and Eurowise are the indy options but I haven't used them. I put a Techart rear wing on, painted on the lower exterior panels and had the center console done in gloss piano black.

I went to Cars and Coffee last year with another car but haven't taken the 997tt there yet. I did take the Porsche to Cars and Cappuccino in the Foxcroft shopping center near Southpark mall. Dedicated to european sports cars - Lots of Porsches and some Ferrari's etc. You can join their facebook page for more info.

Hopefully I'll see you around at one of the gatherings. I hardly ever see 997tt's around here.

Thanks GTRNICK, much appreciated. i had been following that thread (and frankly have listening to tens of others on youtube). What i was looking for were mostly first person impressions based on long-term ownership experience such as (1) were people as happy after 6 months of ownership vs. the first ride home after installation of either system, (2) quality of construction and materials (both are high quality, top notch exhaust systems but any issues with the cats or other components over the long haul?), and (3) drone (typically none with either, initially, however what about over time?).

Basically, ownership impressions after the "honeymoon" period wears off...

Europipe is my favorite but you should try to hear the 2 of them in person just to be 100% sure. You won't go wrong with EP

I own a '07 TT and it is my DD. I have the GMG exhaust but the droning drives me nuts at around 2000 rpm. personally, I don't think it is loud compare with my other cars.
