Europipe or GMG?
UGH! I think someone in another thread mentioned…every thread about exhausts turns out to be a clusterfck! LOL!!!
OK - I like EP1. Carry kids in the car, but want a good sounding bite when I push it. it does the trick. However…everyone will have a different opinion…and they are all right! So find a sample of both in your area and listen to them live. That is really the only way to decide. Then pick one and never look back. Just enjoy the new ride.
The videos online do a great job giving you a taste, but live is the best way to decide.
Good luck!

I agree that the best approach is to hear the exhausts in person. I have never heard a GMG so I can't comment on it, but I can comment on EP. It isn't as loud as some, but it seems to suit the car wonderfully, sounds great at low speed when maneuvering in parking lots, etc., has no drone, at all at any speed, and make a great noise at WOT.
Not to hijack the thread, exhaust threads can develop a life of their own, but could anyone please share their views on how the Europipe compares to the FVD Brombacher (M&M) exhausts for 997.2 Turbo S?
All of your opinions are great, thanks. I've never had the chance to listen to the Europipe but the GMG sounds crazy!!! The only thing is a few people have told me that the GMG is too loud. I don't mind it being a little loud but not obnoxious. All you Europipe fans, what type of HP gain have you seen? All you GMG fans, is it loud to the point of being obnoxious?
My last car was a heavily mod'ed 996 TT w/ a Tech Art Exhaust which wasn't quiet at all. As we all know the 997TT is a much quieter car.

Europipe provides power and torque improvements on their website, but I didn't care about that, I simply wanted better sound, absolutely no drone, no CEL, and exceptional quality. While I thought I felt some seat of the pants improvement in power, what I really noticed, apart from the sound, was how much more quickly the turbo spooled up.
Another reason I wasn't too concerned about the power was, I knew I was going to do a tune, and that the bulk of the additional power would come from the tune, augmented by having done the exhaust first.

I actually just sold my GMG for my 997.1tt. I had it installed for about 2-3 months. For me it was slightly too loud at lower speeds (ie. navigating around parking lot, etc.). There is some mild drone in the 2200-2600 rpm range. The exhaust has a really nice cold start up and sounds wonderful with aggressive acceleration. Obnoxious loud is so subjective. As others have suggested I would certainly try and hear the GMG in person before buying.
FYI I just switched to a Kline system which was installed yesterday. It was pouring down rain and so I really haven't had a chance to really test it, but I was very happy on the drive home.
