There are 4 years that new engine dfi has come out and still I cant find any car producing over 650 or 700hp...why is that? Tuners dont like it? internals cant stand? Opinions please...

 

Internals and gearbox is too weak and also fuel pressure!

 

I believe that the GTR faced the same issues in the beginning. The difference on porsche is that tuners still have a recent car with the trusted metzger engine and are delaying all the R&D investment to develop higher stages for the dfi engine. Maybe with the 991 they feel now more pressure for that.

 

Yes possibly this is also true.

 

Internal photos of rods show an eye difference in cross sectional area... (997.1 vs2)...maybe thats the weakest point....

 

Another thing is the new engine is semi dry sump I think!?

 

The Champion Motorsport 997.2 Turbo S development car has made a lot more than 700 crank HP during testing. They made around 700 to the wheels IIRC so the motor, stock turbo and fuel system are not the limitation. I can't recall why they dialed down the HP but from what I remember it was the PDK for the most part. That and the fact that they piggy-back the Porsche drivetrain warranty the car so I think they limit things to a tad north of 600 AWHP with their 22psi FBO file.
