FVD Brombacher Our Latest Software Delivery Tool
Here is one interesting thing.
On US site it costs 1995 USD. However on German (or European) site it costs also 1995... but EUR.
1 EUR = 1,36 USD
Same car, same product, price is +36%
Someone on this forums wrote that European tuning is overpriced... well here is an example

FVD is based in Germany.
MyGenius is an Italian product.
In the US if you purchase something online and you dont live in the same state as the company you bought it from, you dont have to pay sales tax.
So the FVD Tune Costs $1995 in the US (if you had to pay sales tax it would cost about $2150
In Europe (as you are aware) the price listed INCLUDES the 19% VAT so if you take away the 19% VAT it goes from 1995 Euro down to 1615 Euro. Until the last few months, the Euro was valued against the dollar at about $1.25=1 Euro which makes the prices equal.
In mid 2010 when the dollar was trading at $1.16=1 Euro it was actually cheaper for people buying in Euro than people paying in dollars (again if you remove the VAT taxes).
FVD or any other company cant be expected to change their prices based on the fluctuation of the dollar versus any other currency. If you dont like the 19% VAT tax then I cant help ya!
I think you missed my point...

1. There is shipping cost & customs, that (sort of) cancel the VAT
2. The price posted is net, try to add it to the basket:
<table border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="2" align="right"><tbody><tr><td align="left">Betrag:
</td><td align="right">1.995,00
</td></tr><tr><td align="left">Versandkosten:
</td><td align="right">18,82
</td></tr><tr><td align="left">zzgl. 19% MwSt:
</td><td align="right">382,63
</td></tr><!-- <tr> <td colspan='2' align='right'>zzgl. 19% MwSt</td> </tr> --><!-- <tr> <td colspan='2' align='right'>zzgl. Versandkosten</td> </tr> --><tr><td align="left">Gesamtbetrag:
</td><td align="right">2.396,45
</td></tr></tbody></table>
So yes, it is overpriced in EU.
Please FVD make the same special offer in EU!

FVD tune
Hi Rhonda,
Very interested in your tune. I have looked at Softronic and GIAC; for me, yours addresses my concerns best. I have emailed a few questions directly to you. How does sport mode work with your tune? Does standard tune help with cat error code? The pricing sounds great! I will be in touch, probably give you a call early next week.

Hi I have had an FVD tune for a long time.
The Sport mode button switches to a higher boost map and is much more responsive. The tune switches off the sensors so it does not throw a CEL.
Hope this helps.
You will love it!
GTRNICK, thanks for the input, very helpful. I placed my order for the FVD tune yesterday. By the way, my wife and I love London. We usually visit in the spring; we were last there April 2013.
I give all of you a lot of credit for taking the time to post comments. I have learned a lot from this forum. To that end I am going to share my very unprofessional opinion on my search for a tune for my 997.1Turbo. For those of you that are looking for a technical review please dont waste your time reading any further. To those of you that have seen too many discussions about tunes on this forum I apologize in advance for another one. For those of you that may be in a similar situation as I am, I am hoping my comments may help.
There are many good tuning companies out there which makes the decision of which tune very difficult; after a year and half of research I limited my choices down to three GIAC, Softronic and FVD. I had the following priorities: 1)reliable company with Porsche experience, 2)reliability of the car as a priority of the tune over getting the absolute maximum horsepower/torque, 3)good technical support if needed, 4)DIY preferred. In the end I chose FVD. Why? The three companies all have Porsche experience, after looking at the power gains in more detail all three are actually pretty close, FVD emphasizes reliability a little more than the others but all claim to be reliable and all have good technical support. Softronic requires a reliable internet connection. I live in rural upstate New York (not far from Watkins Glen for those that have been there) and we do not have reliable internet access in my area. I have slow DSL and no internet in my garage, garage is remote from the house. I do have reliable internet at work but no way to hook my car to it. This meant I would have to go through my independent shop. My shop is great but I wanted to be able to do this without having to use a shop. With the GIAC tune I would have AWE just outside of Philadelphia do the install, very reputable company but, again, I wanted the flexibility of doing it myself. The FVD install does not require a reliable internet connection to download the original program nor does it require me to leave my car with a shop that could do it for me. FVD met all my other criteria. Rhonda was great to work with and the price is great if you buy before February 14th; added bonus.
Early on, I also looked into some of the open platform tuning systems. I built a Caterham 7SV, still own it, that uses an open tuning system. It came with a base program that you can modify yourself. At first it was a lot of fun working with my shop with the car on their dyno to optimize horsepower and torque. After repeated return trips to deal with various drivability issues, it got old. We finally got it right after probably close to 100 hours. The maps on a modern car control system are so intertwined that a change to how it reacts to one thing can affect many other things. An adjustment to the mixture ratio related to changes in temperature or length of time it runs a rich mixture while coming to operating temperature can have adverse side effects on something else. It was one thing doing this on the non-turbo 2-liter Ford Focus engine that powers my Caterham but another to do this to my Porsche turbo. Getting a new short block for the Caterham, although not desirable, would be the same price as an upgraded exhaust for our cars. I give a lot of credit to the folks on this site that can do this level of tune on their Porsche but I did not want to chance it and with my skill level, wise not to.
We still have 2 feet of snow here so I will not be able to install the FVD tune for a couple of months. I will post my thoughts about it when installed. Thanks to all of you!

Hey Rhonda,
I think I would like to pull the trigger as well. Please feel free to shoot me a PM to discuss. I have a few questions that I would like to address.
Thanks everyone for your input
