Good luck with your tune! If you end up with Softronic, I think you will be impressed with Scott's customer service and skills! Of course there are other good tunes as well, and everyone has their favorite..I can only refer to my experience which has been a friggin grin factory! I am actually thinking about getting another Softronic tune for my wife's P-car soon! Now that should be funny! May be the last I see of the car DC
I really liked the Borla exhaust, actually My mechanic will be installing BOV's, AP cold air intake and Eibach springs today.

I ordered the R already still waiting for it, but as soon as I install it I will post pics.

Thanks for all your advise I appreciate it!

How are you installing BOV's? Did you mechanic mean recirculation valves? The BOV sound is not audible with the aftermarket recirculation valves bolted onto the turbos.

Hey that is great!

One suggestion...Skip the aftermarket Recirculating valves dude....they are a waste and can stick and cause issues...Ask me how I know Also read a bunch of posts on here with similar experiences....

Do what you like....Just trying to save you some grief

Looking forward to seeing the bi "R"...

Take care...

Shoot.... I really love the sound of the turbos with the valves, I will try them and see if it's too much trouble, how do you know by the way?? And What would be the problems??

Hey buddy.....I am not trying to be a know it all (because I do not ) or tell you what to do.

If you search on here there are a number of threads that go in to great detail about them not actually doing ANYTHING. Of course I did not listen and bought some Billet FORGE Diverter/recirculating valves anyway.

My car was acting strange after just a short time....so what you should always do is check things you have recently changed...and any other things that had to be removed....It was easy enough to jack it up and pull the diverters... (about a 20-30 minute job...so do not get overcharged!)....one looked fine, but the other piston was locked in a near shut position....I beat the hell out of it, and hammered on it...it was stuck! Never moved so put OEMS back on and no issues....

Also....other than those SELLING aftermarket diverters, no one to my knowledge has ever had any issues with the OEM.....I was shocked at how good they looked when I removed them.

Anyway...please take this in the context delivered...to help you and offer information. Do what you are comfortable with....

Hope that helps....and Good luck!

DC

All right, just trying different things like most of us here, the valves I bought are Agency Power by the way, so will see what happens, if there is a problem I can always go back to OEM right?

Thanks buddy.

Just as a history note... RUF was banned and thrown out by Porsche many years ago.

Best,
Scott Slauson
What was "banned"? Doesn't Porsche still sell "tubs" to RUF for RUF's custom manufacture?

So for those that live in areas where they have the option to go to these great shops...that is awesome....For many of us....that is not an option.

That is a niche' that these self installed tunes fill well.

Take care...

I was referring to what had transpired many years ago as to the access to the technical info and parts they once had in the Porsche warehouse. They still build and alter Porsche cars in coachwork today. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes...that is the good news...you can always get rid of them and switch...If I lived close to you I would even do it for you! Very easy and I like working on these bad boys..(except for the occasional times when I F' things up...or changing plugs )

Again....I did not know the brand...if they are AP definitely watch them and you have to check the lube on theirs regularly...And do me a favor and don't buy anymore AP I say that as a friend.....You can also read about them on the forums

Best of luck to you! And also looking forward to the R pics. Both my P-sports cars have been pretty much parked since before Christmas that sucks..

I have to agree that anything AP is yuk.

Stick with OEM diverters. Nothing wrong with stock ones and no benefit to fitting them just a waste of time and money.
