Curious. To lift the current battery out, which is about 50lbs, would you stand in the frunk compartment to get proper leverage? I can't see anyone be strong enough to lift that kind of of weight bent over the fender.

groupagst is infamous around these parts
Voltphreaks, lithium pros and lithiummoto are good if trying to save weight. The VPR6 is around 5.25 pounds but will run you $1k-1200

Not sure on 17. My experience is only with the 21. I had an 11 pounder in a mustang and it always had to be on a tender.

I've owned two Brailles - constant recharges - PITA. I have now switched Odessey but no results yet.

Update: I used the B3121 and had nothing but problems, needed a jump after 5-7 days.

Just for kicks, I transplanted a 3.5 pound lithium battery from my IS-F (it was running for 3 years straight as a DD). I made it with A123 cells that I got on ebay and soldered using RC car components. FWIW, it worked - but because I had it mounted "ghetto", I pulled it out for now. Next year, after getting some R compound rears, after establishing a good baseline for what a stock Turbo S can do in the 1/4, my plan is to start lightening it. Battery, exhaust, bucket seats, etc. Then I'll start tuning and stuff. We'll see.

I run a generic 17 lb with no issues. Only drive on the weekends. I keep it on a tender during the winter but living in TX that's not as bad as many locations. If you live in a cold climate and not going with a lithium, i'd recommend 21 lb or more. I made a diy thread a while back if u care to see how i set it up.
