Rear tires
I've been running PS2's in the front and PSS in the rear with no issues whatsoever. Michelin lists the PSS as a replacement for the PS2, so this is even a recommended replacement from Michelin. However, the wear indexes are considerably different, so you would think there would be a considerable traction difference. Reality is, there doesn't seem to be and the PSS's get even better traction than the PS2's.
The PSS vs PS2 is not a huge difference. I know all the pro drivers here can tell but I am guessing one of us can run our tuned suspension PSS shod cars against a porsche driver like Mark Weber in a bone stock with PS2 and he will destroy us all day. Point lots of us have a great butt dyno and butt feel but its not as signifigant in reality
I do not think it would really be that big of a deal actually. Certainly the traction coefficient would be different however you change that on any given tire by changing the camber adjustment and or adding sway bars and selecting different tension settings too.
