I agree, also the rears will wear faster and catch up to the fronts in no time. The problem would be worse if the fronts were newer than the rear. The problem isnt the tread pattern its grip. Newer tires will have more grip than older. So you are adding more grip to the rear. For a little while as they wear faster.
The PSS vs PS2 is not a huge difference. I know all the pro drivers here can tell but I am guessing one of us can run our tuned suspension PSS shod cars against a porsche driver like Mark Weber in a bone stock with PS2 and he will destroy us all day. Point lots of us have a great butt dyno and butt feel but its not as signifigant in reality

I do not think it would really be that big of a deal actually. Certainly the traction coefficient would be different however you change that on any given tire by changing the camber adjustment and or adding sway bars and selecting different tension settings too.
