LED strip question on 997.2 911TT

Excuse the remedial question, but I don't see the answer in the manual and the dealer is closed today/Sunday. On the front of my 2012 997.2 TT, there is an LED strip of lights. I can only get ONE bulb of the full strip of lights to turn white on any setting. However, when you put on the turn signal, the full strip lights up in orange. How can I turn on the FULL LED strip in white?

You have confused yourself by looking at aftermarket LED light replacements. The OEM units only has one parking light (white) at the outer edges of each unit. The rest are for the (orange) indicator function. If you need to light up the whole strip as a Day time running light, you will need to purchase the aftermarket variant.

Vivid sells them. So does Delrey customs.

Thank you. I saw other Porsche models that had the full LED strip, so I assumed incorrectly this car would as well.

Open up your wallet & take out $1000 then they will work ,you've probably seen many 997 Carrera's with them, for some reason the Carrera guys got them from the factory & us turbo guys have to go aftermarket to get that look.

I bought the car yesterday wise-*** so I have opened up my wallet. Obviously, I thought I was doing something wrong. The mods on this car were on the car when I bought it (exhaust, IPD plenum and BMC) from Town Porsche in Englewood.

I think he was kidding with you based on the smiley face etc.. No need for name calling on the forum...Best way to get booted. People here are usually very helpful and have lots of knowledge....And are jovial at times....maybe lighten up....Or no one will respond to your posts or help you...

Just a thought...

Seriously, I think you took that the wrong way. When I read what TW wrote I take that as.... It's bs that they are $1000 (which is exactly how I feel) he even went on to mention that the 997 carrera got them OEM, and us TT folk have to shell out cash. And WAYYYYY too much for a little led light strip.

He was by no means calling you out

GFY. First, here in the more hardened East Coast, wise-*** really isn't considered bad at all really unless you're 7. Secondly, maybe people shouldn't write things at all that could be misconstrued if not for a smiley. I have unsubscribed from this thread.

Even without the smiley, the statement was obviously a joke. How big is the stick up your you know where for you not to be able to get that joke, even if over an internet forum...

Next time try 'sorry didn't mean it that way'. You'll get a lot farther on this forum by being friendly, regardless of what the hardcore east coast has taught you.
